I have no issue with what he was doing if there was no kid there or if he was unaware of the kid. But if he had any decency he would have taken a break when he noticed he was being stared at by a child, rather than staring at her back and continuing. Would have been nice if he asked where her parents were too since she was clearly alone. But again, any parent that loses a child that young out in public is unfit to be a parent anyways.

Everything about him today is surrounded in hyperbole and myth. After his death, people idolized the American ACTOR and created this weird Bruce Lee Culture.

They said his kicks were faster than light (they sped up footage and lied later); he had the lower body strength of an average female.

They praised his physique; Bruce Lee was severely underweight and had the cardio of the average couch potato.

They said nobody could beat him in a fight; Bruce Lee's only recorded fight was against a cook, to whom he lost.

They talk about his philosophy; Bruce Lee plagiarized various sources on Kung Fu and created some bullshit college freshman philosophy about Jeet Kune Do (which he only created because other forms of Kung Fu were too hard for him) - then proceeded to not live by those values nor exemplify them on screen

Bruce Lee is the reason why martial arts stereotypes about Asian people exist
He's the reason why people go "WA! HA~~~~YA!" when imitating Asian people doing "karate" (they don't even realize Karate is Japanese, not Chinese, because the distinction is meaningless to them)

I hate Bruce Lee

I guess it all boils down to

"Do you think a man with no shirt and short shorts dancing is an inherently sexual situation inappropriate for young people"

For most, just the idea that a shirtless guy in short shorts is AROUND a young person is enough to scare them. Some people are just sexually liberated to the point where what that guy is doing isn't sexual at all. It's just dancing. People are allowed to dance to music. People are allowed to have their shirts off - it's Pride Parade after all.

People are allowed to express themselves in ways like this as long as they're not overtly sexual in public

That all being said he did have some pretty explicit dance moves in there but you people saying that girl is probably dancing in her underwear now are fucking ridiculous

Have you noticed that people who are obsessed with the following 5 categories tend to be very racist? :

- military
- police
- first responders (eg firemen, rescue)
- guns
- religious stuff

I mean, its great to be a cop, or soldier or whatever. You can be a cop and it does t have to become your identity. You can be a priest and it is still now your whole identity.

I am talking about the John Doe kind of people that have a bald I support the police profile picture in Facebook, complete with that edited out version of the flag with a blue stripe, or people who have 50 pictures related to veterans or evangelical stuff.

In theory none of those 5 have anything to do with racism, yet the correlation is strong. I wonder why?

Generally people who are not actually involved in any of that stuff either
Nor do they really know anything about it
Most racists would actually hate being in the military... why would they subject themselves to LITERALLY one of the MOST DIVERSE organizations in the world

Context is that it use to be the general held belief back in, let's say, the days of slavery, or even in the more recent early 1900s.

Now that I have explained my meaning, explain what you meant with your comment.

If that's your definition of "recently" (since the 1900s) then your statement goes from "clear sign that certain people don't understand" to "incredibly ignorant about racism in the United States"

The latter seems pretty common though so I don't blame you; it's the system.
It's the system that tells you the Civil Rights Movement wasn't violently suppressed by killing all their leaders, and that the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Acts ended racism

Perception changes

Like, yeah I don't know your friends but I can assume they're just dudes fucking around with some music

They are visionaries, right? A message is only as strong as those who hear it and agree/support it.

All it takes is the right people to hear it for it to gain mass appeal... also why does art always have to be a "message" lmao that's a very normie way of thinking about art. "Nobody has seen it therefore its bad"
You think art would have more value if more people saw it? Is a piece of art crap just because only 1000 people see it, and then if more than 999999 people see it it's suddenly a masterpiece? lmfao

The way the art world works, whether its visual arts, music, fashion, what have you... the boundaries are pushed by the experimental and avant garde artists who try new and unforeseen things to explore art

The best of these ideas trickle into public consciousness, and that's how publicly perceived art changes over time

So yeah go ahead and mock these people who engage in their hobbies and passions, and aren't afraid of trying new things

it was a large group of swanky young men it pays to be cautious. in your scenario you're just one guy non threatening and you say you live there like what would you even do by yourself if you didn't have a key to your room?

1. The guy doesn't even live in those apartments. Apparently the elevator needs a key too so it's not like they could have gone up
2. He has no authority to brandish a gun in that circumstance. He clearly was trying to threaten them with the chance of violence. And anybody in the USA right now is heavily aware of the implications behind a certain man with a gun and minorities
3. If he thought there was suspicious activity he has other avenues to follow other than blatantly discriminatory behavior (he stops them from going up but has no qualms with the white kid with them)

Why in the hell do certain people keep acting like someone has to come out and call a group of black people the n-word while doing things in order for them to be racist

So after reading the article: man is keeping non residents off the elevator, group starts talking shit and trying to force their way onto the elevator, and then group cries racism when the guy theyre attempting to physically overpower pulls a gun. Would it have been that hard just to call your friend to come down and get you? The whole exchange could have been avoided.

certain people routinely let other people into their apartments without even asking if they look like they're stuck

source: me getting let into apartments by passing strangers who don't even think for another second whether or not i belong there; i'm asian btw
