The refs ran because they knew exactly how fanbases react in this scenario. They made the right call and did their jobs but how dare they not show bias toward the home team. Dak is not recognizing that. HE cost the team two seconds that could've been used to spike the ball with a second left on the clock. HE should take responsibility for not handing the ball to the ref. Instead he's acting like an immature twit... and so is McCarthy, and McCarthy should know better.

ESPN even has the headline: "Could Dallas fire Mike McCarthy?" so it's clearly being discussed but we'll see if that's what Jerry Jones is thinking.

P.S. I think we should name the next topic "NFL Playoffs Discussion Topic 2" or something to that effect. For the playoffs, that's probably better since there are fewer games and a more coherent storyline, so we don't need to separate them by week like during the regular season.

The way this endgame was botched has cost Kellan Moore any chance of getting a head coaching gig this season. Not that he'd have been a good hire to begin with. The Cowboys' lack of discipline already has showcased that he's not ready to be in charge of a team at his age (even though I know that's not JUST his fault, but still).

At least Jerry Jones is handling this very maturely: "The team shouldn't have been in position for that last play to be something controversial, so I'm not going to make it something bigger than it is." In other words, he's holding Prescott, Moore, and McCarthy accountable for being behind to begin with.

Cowboys fans throwing debris at the refs is pathetic. The refs didn't botch anything. Dak would've had enough time to spike if he had handed a ref the ball instead of placing it where he wanted it. Could have saved two seconds.

Watched the 2nd quarter while exercising. Very nice to see T. J. Watt with the Scoop-and-Score.

Then the Chiefs decided to finally play and it got as boring and one-sided as was expected.

Tbh I think the game would improve with like some kind of penalty limit. You can only accept 3/4 per game or honestly even just get rid of them for the most part.

That was pretty blatant. Contorted the guy's body in an unnatural way. Refs will call that every single time.

We'll see what the injury report is for Saturday. The fact that it's likely a shorter week will hurt the Niners. Because the Cards/Rams winner plays next Sunday.

The sheer amount of penalties is nuts. But a lot has to do with Dallas lacking discipline. That costs you in the playoffs.

I'm very terrified of playing a team with this kind of momentum. Especially having had a bye week. Historically... bye weeks in the postseason have not been kind to the Pack.

No, we most certainly didn't. List of polls says the last one was in April 2020. So almost two years ago at this point.

Seems like the Raiders fans are acting really salty and are acting like it's "rigged" because the refs didn't strip the Bengals of a legitimate touchdown because of a bogus whistle.

This is why I have a lot of respect for NFL referees. They put up with the blame being wholly shifted onto them even when it's not their fault. From what I saw via my neutral perspective, the refs did things that hurt both sides throughout the game.

The second game's result is still beautiful, and I hope it's a sign of things to come for Belicheat and Co.

Yeah, the only game I intend to watch tomorrow is 49ers/Cowboys. Zero interest in Eagles/Bradys and Steelers/Chiefs. Both of those feel like they'll be lopsided. Raiders/Bengals was fun, but I didn't care to watch Bills/Cheatriots today - I got plenty of satisfaction just looking at the result. Definitely watching Cards/Rams.

I think one game a day is good enough tbh.

Can't speak for everyone, but I do think most stadiums do that. I know for a fact the Chiefs do.

I don't remember that at Lambeau, but it's been a while. I've seen criticism of the fans for not getting on their feet enough.

I really like the way he emphasizes it, though. It feels encouraging to the fans.

And this two-minute drill probably won't end well if the Raiders are as sluggish as they were the last drive.

The Raiders aren't playing like this is the playoffs. They really do not want to win this.

Also, I must say I love how the stadium announcer yells "IT'S THIIIIIIIIRD DOWWWWWWWN!" to get the crowd to make noise. It's an excellent way to accomplish that, and other NFL stadia could get the crowd engaged better with that.

I'm just glad you finally got around to listening to it. And yes, they usually play in bars or at festivals. But it's really good stuff for that and does everything it's supposed to.

I doubt Jerry Jones will fire McCarthy. Has McCarthy shown choke jobs enough in Dallas yet? Because Jerry puts a lot of trust in people he shouldn't sometimes. He's hard to predict. The Harbaugh thing is dumb because Harbaugh isn't leaving Ann Arbor. Why would he?

Yes, and I would have said yes two years ago before the COVID hit because kids are too expensive.

That much money would solve, or at least enable me to seek solutions for, my problems right now. It wouldn't be a permanent fix, nor would it prevent future problems.

The Texans need to clean house entirely if they're going to do that crap. I don't think anyone's gonna want to work for that mess, much like the Jaguars. If Shad Khan had fired Baalke, he'd have a LOT of coaches chomping at the bit to come coach T-Law. Instead, he's looking as clueless as ever by keeping the guy known to bus coaches at a moment's notice. Since the Browns are no longer the joke of the AFC (the way the Lions have been in the NFC for ages), the Jaguars and Texans are really eager to attain that title.

And if Russell Wilson can veto trades per his contract, he's gonna do it if it's to the Giants. Too much of a dumpster fire.

In JRPGs where you can only use a subset of the full party at any given time, I will usually rotate what party members I'm using constantly so that I end up using everyone pretty much equally. Even if I like certain ones more, they get no favoritism - I prefer the variety and 'sense' that everyone in the team is actually involved in the gameplay as well as the story.

I do some semblance of this, however I tend to exclude a character or two depending on the size of the party. If it's a four-character battle system, I keep it at six. If it's three characters, I will only use five. This keeps variety and the sense of a team without feeling like a chore. This is one reason I like games that limit the number of playable characters reasonably. Tales of Symphonia has eight, which is a lot, but my answer to the question would probably be Sheena (I usually use Lloyd + Sheena + Raine + Zelos). Symphonia has that crap spell canceling though.

Sometimes it's the weakest who gets benched (like the kitty in Persona 5) but other times it's just someone with too situational of a moveset. Depends on the game.

Marvin Lewis isn't the Bengals coach anymore. He was a master of making the playoffs and losing the first game. He was only there so long because, unlike the guys before him, he actually made the playoffs.

So don't count out the possibility of a W. But also don't count out the Bungles showing up. Burrow lacks postseason experience, so...

Bisaccia definitely helped his case by making the playoffs. First interim head coach to do so in the Super Bowl Era IIRC (at least interim by firing/forced resignation of predecessor). Gruden was a good coach but he's a terrible human being.

It's great that the Giants, er, made a Judge-ment. His successor will have a lot of fires to put out. Ones that existed before they made the mistake of hiring Judge.

Guys in the mix will include Byron Leftwich (Bradys OC), Nathaniel Hackett (Packers OC), Eric Bieniemy (Chiefs OC, who should've gotten a job last year), Kellan Moore (Cowboys OC), Brian Flores (who the Fins just made the mistake of firing), Doug Pederson (former Eagles coach), and Raheem Morris (Falcons' interim coach last year, Rams DC this). I am definitely missing some. The media will throw around Josh McDaniels again but we all know no team will consider him after how he jilted the Colts. They'll also say Jim Harbaugh will get interviews but he ain't leaving Ann Arbor.

The Jaguars either need to rid themselves or Baalke or risk getting a second-rate hire like Bill O'Brien. Baalke is going to bus whoever he gets as soon as is necessary, which should cement the Jaguars as the new joke of the AFC. Shad Khan needs to be fired. But how do you fire an owner?
