This makes me forever love 3-2. Too many cases rely on focusing on the culprit or the defendant. Desiree is the one who makes 3-2 work so well. Yes, I'll always love the over the top Luke Atmey more than her, for instance, but I'll never downplay how much she makes that case.

I'm in the same boat and enjoyed her since the first time I played 3-2. The biggest thing is how she's the defendant's motive. I will forever envy Ron actually marrying his dream girl (and, let's be real, she's the kind of girl I'd like, too, even with how materialistic she is - a well-established character flaw), with her loving him back because he was doing it for her.

And then we have Luke Atmey, who is hilarious. It's pretty amazing when you think about it this way: When either Adrian Andrews, who was a star in 2-4, or Larry Butz, who is usually fantastic, is the most forgettable character in your case, you know you have a winner.

Excluding the main cast (which counts defendants and prosecutors), Desiree is probably the best character in Ace Attorney to never actually testify. Aside from her bringing in a certain piece of incriminating evidence, of course, which just proves what a keeper she is. Obvious why Ron wants her to stay. She actually cares deeply about him because he will do anything for her. And she's hot.

3-2 is one of my favorite cases and that subplot is one reason why. It's written differently than most other cases and that makes it more compelling, even though Ron and Luke are idiots (for two very different reasons).

Thinking it over, that may be the episode that gets me to stop actively watching. It was really that bad. I wouldn't say it's the worst of all time (that dishonor probably goes to the merge of IotI), but it's the straw the broke the camel's back.

Next week, I'll probably be playing Pokemon with Survivor in the background. That's how mindless the show has become. It requires fewer brain cells than catching a Feebas. I don't like Survivor to be dumbed down.

And the best player doesn't always win and that's always been the case. Rob Cesternino was the best player in Amazon and he didn't win. Jenna just beat him at the Final IC and to some people, apparently that makes her a better overall player - just because the last domino fell in her direction. If it were a different challenge, Rob could've won it.

I vehemently disagree with Brandon that there's always a way out. I suppose technically there is in the sense that you could get down on your knees and say "please don't vote me out," and there's a 0.01% chance they go, "you know what, he said please." But like, what the hell could Aaron have done to escape that mess in China? And that's in a season that I think had very reasonable twists, both in nature and in quantity, and we still saw one of the most screwed over players ever.

The twist that screwed Aaron was extremely unfair, but otherwise China was very reasonable with its twists. The version of "Warrior Swap" we saw this season was much better, aside from the fact that each of them got an idol. No, because each tribe swapped ONE warrior that was chosen by the tribe that won the challenge (without their knowledge that this is what they were doing), those three people should've been granted immunity up front for the Tribal Council in that episode. This should've been revealed at the challenge. "Because you three need time to acclimate to your new tribes, none of you are going home tonight. For the tribe that loses this challenge, their new addition will have immunity for tonight only." Thankfully it worked out like that anyway.

The biggest reason the China twist was unfair was that each tribe got to pick two people from the other tribe specifically to fuck over. Aaron was screwed because of Leslie's big, runny mouth painting him as the leader at a time earlier than Todd and Amanda had wanted. James had a way out with the kidnapping + idol in the next episode - which is one of my favorite episodes ever (because it goes from Zhan Hu wanting to throw the challenge to thinking Sherea had flipped and thus not caring if she was booted, which is hilarious to me). But they should've done the kidnapping in the prior episode as a way to grant a potential way out... if anyone cared to.

My nice recliner doesn't count since my parents just gave that to me when they moved.

Yet another predictable result. Matt's "I finally get a vote! I finally get to play Survivor!" confessional early in the episode made me watch the entire thing knowing he was a goner. Carson also had something like that but it was paid off immediately with him drawing the ad rock at the challenge.

What a stupid episode this was. Too many convoluted twists and turns that made it very uninteresting. Over half this cast doesn't feel like people because they're not being edited as such. They're being edited as cogs in a machine that none of them are in control of.

Yeah, the thing is that Yam-Yam and Matt are saying they won't vote for each other, but when Heidi plays that thing, everyone has to call an audible, so they WILL vote for each other.

They haven't had a pure merge vote yet! They've had half the tribe immune for both votes FOR NO REASON. I am sick of this.

I'll definitely give S45 a gander if the 90-minute episode rumors are true, but if it's just a longer version of this nightmare without balancing it out with relationship scenes, I will stop watching. And I mean it this time.

This season sucks and it really shouldn't, because this is a decent cast, and that's solely due to production trying to control the game.

So it's basically a Vote Steal under cross-tribe circumstances?

Just what I watch Survivor for: People running in circles in the jungle to get some kind of advantage.

This is boring.

I'm watching the ads more intently than I was watching Survivor.

Seriously, this is certainly a low-tier season because it's not fun to watch production control the game. The cast is supposed to set the rules. That no longer happens.

Dear God I hate this. WHY does every episode need a twist?

I didn't follow all of what he said. It was WAY too much.

They need fewer twists, not more. Twists make the cast play more conservatively, create randomness that punishes strategic gameplay, are hard to follow, and distract from what truly matters on this show: Relationships.

I'm not even really watching at this point.

There was way too much setup talk on page 2 of topic 1. Pretty much everyone who was trying to talk about it was scum who knew about the setup. That was something I'm surprised nobody else caught on to.

But this was a fun game to read when I could, in large part due to the swingy setup. If the cards fell differently early, we'd have been looking at a much different endgame.

It really depends on who you are. The game aged fine if you played it back then and don't play many FPSes now. Younger players and those who play modern FPSes a lot typically can't get into it since there's no health regeneration and none of the QOL improvements that, say, the Duty Calls games have.

It's still playable and still fun and that's what matters to me. Even though it's brutally hard by today's standards.

Noctowl of course. Because of the anime I'd straight up gotten used to it so much that I often forget it's not the standard Noctowl.

Yeah, this is why I wanted a shiny Noctowl and was happy to obtain one this weekend.

Asking since I have been getting them at quite a clip via S&M's GTS. Yes, these are blatantly hacked. Yes, I don't care. Like... this Solgaleo was a giveaway in exchange for a Yungoos... and holy shit, IT WORKED!

My favorites of what I have include that Solgaleo, Umbreon, the purple Mudkip, black Charizard, the Route One Shiny Pidgey (it's a true story!), and probably Gardevoir.

I may get a "device" for myself as well. Not sure on that yet. Is it worth it?

This is true from critics and general audience scores, but not from Star wars nerds.

Rise of Skywalker was awful and rushed, and everyone knew that. And yet still it didn't tank the sequel trilogy's overall numbers down below the prequel trilogy's.

The critics mostly liked The Last Jedi, though fan response was polarizing. Nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans, though With TFA, they whined about how the plot was recycled exactly. Then with TLJ, they didn't like the creative liberties taken (I liked the risks they took, personally). Just how it is...

My apartment building doesn't allow dogs unless special permission is obtained. The dogs that live here do not bark irritatingly. I don't think I've ever had a neighbor with a dog that barked louder than my bedroom fan, though there's a reason I have one. Like... I don't think my neighbor's dog growing up was ever THAT loud.

The only irritating neighbor I have right now is the one violating the no-smoking agreement. Management is trying to figure out who it is so this person can be evicted.

I'm all for 90-minute episodes if they use that extra 30 correctly. But since that's a major "IF" statement, I don't know if I can stomach it. We need that 30 minutes to be partially devoted to camp life and regular relationship-building instead of a reward challenge and more strategy meta. You know what they're going to do with it.

That said, it's just a rumor at this point. Could be that this rumor is baseless, but who knows? You gotta consider what CBS would do with a 30-min slot after Survivor. Or if they'll expand something else to 90 minutes...

Tribal itself is so unbearably bad. That is something Jeff could definitely change overnight if he wanted.

Nowadays, Tribal is people talking out of their ass, hoping they say something "cool" that will make it into the edit. Which means weird analogies, bizarre tangents, referencing Survivor 101, etc. and no actual serious talk. Why, you ask? Because Jeff likes it that way, especially the self-aggrandizing he does, acting like this is a replacement for his failed talk show. I honestly don't pay attention during Tribal anymore. It's devolved into airtime filler. Modern Survivor would be better with more camp life scenes and going to Tribal just to vote. We get enough "Jeffing" at challenges as it is, and it's even worse at the "After Show" (and having that immediately after the winner reveal is in poor taste anyway).

Part of the problem is also the lack of diversity in casting. By having so many gamebots and not enough people who have no clue what they're doing, we don't get scumslips that cause people to get paranoid at Tribal much anymore. At least Australian Survivor delivered in droves with that this year (I have two episodes left to watch), and Survivor SA does it right since the gamebots lose their damn minds.

Wrote The Bluest Eye and Beloved, and is considered one of the all-time great American authors. That said, I haven't read any of her work, and that includes in high school.

Yeah, Yuna probably takes this. If she gets a summon off, DK suddenly looks puny. Does she have a protective field around her when she's summoning, or just some old lady warning "STAY AWAY FROM THE SUMMONER"? I don't remember her summons being particularly interruptable. But so long as there's enough distance on the starting terrain, she'll have more than enough time to start summoning - and DK gets owned.

To be fair, Pearl Islands was like that as well. Carried on the shoulders of like six people (Rupert, Sandra, Jon, Lill, Christa, and Burton, plus Savage who was the merge boot) and everyone else was background noise but that group was enough to make it amazing.

This is a terrible comparison. By your own explanation, Pearl Islands had 7/16 people as standouts, all of whom made merge. That's pretty normal. Who this season stands out beyond the season in the same way that group did? I find everyone other than Carolyn somebody who doesn't stand out as a truly great character because they aren't allowed to blossom.

Carolyn is certainly the season's protagonist, so that does improve her chances of winning (but doesn't guarantee it). But if she wins, you win, and I'd love to hear what you talked about if you do!

Did it say this? He said a few things out of context that don't necessarily add up to this. At least my mind didn't go there.

It was implying that. But it could be trickery and just be the usual twist of someone being exiled from Tribal. But it's unusual for such a thing to happen at 11, which is why my mind went there for the first individual challenge.

That twist, if it's what happens, may be the thing I need to know I should stop watching this show.

Also, I particularly hated all the "Oh we're not at merge yet, just on the same beach" talk. Like... could that have been any more contrived? Just call it a merge like the fans do. If they're all together on one beach and voting at the same Tribal Council, it is absolutely a merge.

The One World twist, including the "fake merge" in Thailand, is not a merge since they vote as separate entities and face off against each other in challenges.

I was watching on a bit of a delay, so I didn't say anything. Josh gave me "merge boot" vibes for the whole episode, ESPECIALLY his early episode cockiness. I didn't think Kane or Jaime was ever in trouble tonight.

As for the preview, the immunity winner doesn't get to vote? Why?

Pretty whatever episode. Too much was packed into too little time, and that made it feel needlessly chaotic. I'm not really enjoying the season because of how many twists and advantages there are. With relationships on top of that, it's becoming impossible to keep track of, which in turn makes it mindless. I've really stopped caring, so don't be shocked if I suddenly disappear from these topics again.

I stopped using Twitter on my phone and my mental health improved significantly. I lowered by use on my PC and eliminated it entirely with the introduction of the all-consuming Musky stenc and haven't looked back.

I don't like the Twitter because it's so toxic, and it's gotten even worse recently.
