my best friend(might be former now because i'm frankly tired of him).

let's see. two years ago he met a girl from overseas in london which was introduced through their mothers since they were really good friends.
he pretty much traveled to and fro every other weekend to be with her. they decide to get married in ibiza of all places and so their families and i all went to ibiza for a week and the wedding went fine. after that everybody went home while he decided to extend his stay in london indefinitely.

now come the revelations. like 8-9 months prior to the wedding he lost his job. only his immediate family knew since he was still staying with his mom and basically slept and played games all day. however, he had to keep up a front for his then gf so the money had to come from somewhere in order to fund his frequent travels and the expenses they shared while he was in london which included 2 full trips to ibiza in order to scout out the place and you know... the whole stupid wedding for about 60~ people.

his solution? quick/instant loans from every place he came across as well as loans from family members and friends with the promise of payment after the wedding. on top of that he stole the accounts of his uncle and cousin and racked up loans in their names too. i stupidly gave him a bit over $3000 since i had known him since childhood and this was a once in a lifetime thing.

so after the wedding he fled to london and blocked anyone who asked for money. his gf thought he managed to get a job in london and every day for several months he would get up before her, wait till she left for her own job and then come back and just twiddle his thumbs or play games.

his parents and family were left to deal with all the collection agencies and dunning to pay back the loans. fast forward almost a year and his mom had a stroke which finally made him come back and look his family in the eyes. now they convinced him to move back and subsequently he broke up with his wife with no intention of making it work(eg. get a job close to home, be with his wife occasionally on weekends etc.).

there's more to this story like how their families hate each other, one for being blind to his problems, the other for not telling them sooner about what he was really like etc.
also, his mom bawling her eyes out to me since i as his best friend was the intermediary and the best chance for him to come home(we're asian and family is everything etc.) and his wife also aired out her own problems to me.

basically a whole clusterfuck of a ruined marriage and two families' ruined friendships all stemming from one idiot's problems with money and possibly gambling.

oh and i'm also out $3000+ which i don't know when i'll get back since i as a best friend is pretty low on the list of creditors.

Final Fantasy XII was the last good Final Fantasy and it is better than X. VII is mediocre at best and in no way deserving of the praise it gets.

Some time late last year. I went out with this hot ass Pakistani girl who for some reason, got off on insulting me, and trying to brag about how well traveled she was. She kept trying to make me play this game where she'd name a country, and I'd have to name the capital, just to show how well traveled she was. Even when we went to a second bar, she kept with the insult. "Wow, a vodka soda? You might just be the most basic guy I've ever met. What's next? You gonna order a pumpkin spice latte?" I kept my cool but stopped talking to her after the date.

I went out with this one chick from Brooklyn who was like that some years ago. Bohemian chick, owned her own clothing store. She thought because she traveled here and there she was ultra worldly and sophisticated. Little did she know I'm a geopolitics pro. I dominated her verbally despite her attitude but figured to save myself the headache. Never called her back
