I don't know what sort of mechanics DBD uses, but any BOW has to have mutation as a feature, so maybe they could start as a standard Tyrant, then somehow 'earn' an NE-A parasite that turns them into Nemesis, with a power boost.

Remember, survival horror was originally named that because you don't have enough resources to fight everything. If you can get away from/past a zombie without killing it, just run. Not only will you need the ammo later when the bigger threats turn up, every 'dead' zombie you create is a potential bigger threat when they start mutating into crimson heads.

Outsidexbox and Lets Game It Out have some excellent "Let's snark at horror games" videos, but have only done one or two nights of FNAF1, so I'd like to see someone with a similar style tackle the whole series.

I read somewhere that, for complicated licensing reasons, the revenue from Melty Blood goes not to Type-Moon, but to the studio that did the awful anime.

Anyone know if that's true, and if so if it's likely to still be the case for this one?

Evelyn Harcastle is present-tense narration, isn't it? Think I remember seeing it a few times and thinking it sounded brilliant, but being put off by my intense loathing of stories written in present tense.

Specter is the villain in all of them. Spike is the protagonist of AE1 (and most of the spinoffs, but the other main games have different protagonists).

Just saw that KHUX will cease operation at the end of May, but, unlike most online-only gachafests, rather than being delisted entirely, it will still be downloadable as an offline 'game' in which you can watch the entire storyline with a customised avatar.

The Dark Road side-game (which is young Xehanort's origin story, I think) and the Game & Watch knockoff ex tres mode will still be playable too.

So if there's any KH fans who don't want to gacha but do want to know what the fuck is going on with Unchained, you'll be able to find out soon. Apparently the story will actually be finished at that point too, with an ending and everything (although probably not one that actually explains things).

I've long said that any online only game that ends service should be required to make an offline version available, so while it's disappointing that they're removing the gameplay, this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully one day defunct gachas will be have fully free offline story mpdes.

I thought the controversy was that he'd done multiple speedruns and got 'impossibly' lucky every time?

Competing in a speedrun category where the major factor in how fast you can complete it is luck and then complaining that the winner was lucky seems pointless.

Loved Ape Escape, went back to play it recently but the PS1 disc doesn't work on Euro PS3s for some reason :(

It's a copy protection thing- the game is supposed to ignore controller input if it thinks it's been copied, but the method it uses only works on real PS1 (or PS2) hardware- the PS3's emulator doesn't support the check and so it locks up on the assumption that it's a pirated copy, even though it's actually a real disc in a 'fake' PS1.

I would buy a PS5 in a heartbeat if they announced Ape Escape 4. Or remasters if they localised some of the spinoffs we didn't get.

It certainly looks cool, and I like the idea of being able to hop into a starship, get into a dogfight on the way to another star system, then land on a whole new world and start building a base there, but... it's still got a lot of negative reviews, and I can't tell how many are accurate and how many are just the internet hate machine refusing to let go of one of its favourite chew toys.

I'm also not a huge fan of directionless games, so does NMS have a plot, or at least something to give you a reason to do something/go somewhere beyond just playing around for the sake of it? Compare, say, Minecraft to Dragon Quest Builders- freedom is nice, but adding context and reward makes it feel much more satisfying.

IIRC, the big problem is that the interviews were never intended to be like Ace Attorney- they're all about the facial animations and looking for tells, not contradictions. They just seemed enough like AA that most people assume they're meant to be solved the same way and focus on comparing statements to evidence when you're just supposed to look for which bit of dialogue makes their eyelid twitch.

It doesn't look awful, but... sticking a non-canon chosen one in there as the "guy not in the loop who everyone else explains shit to" is always annoying, especially when the franchise already had Johnny Cage to fill that role.

Also, was that Shang Tsung fighting like Scorpion, or is Scorpion an old dude who looks like Shang Tsung in this?
