To promote Moons of Madness, the developers have released a free prequel ARG called Cyrano Story. It's very short, and if you finish it (it can be done in a couple of minutes with a guide), you have a chance (allegedly 1 in 20) of winning a key for either Moons of Madness, The Black Watchmen or NITE Team 4.

I just did it and got Moons, but I really wanted NITE Team, so if anyone else tries this, wins NT4, and is interested in a trade, let me know. Though MoM does look pretty cool too.

I think Salvation suffers from being more 'a film in the Terminator universe' than a Terminator film. Even at their worst, the others all have the basic structure of "heroes try to survive attacks from a time-travelling robot". Salvation is just a sci-fi war film that takes place after all the proper Terminator stories have played out.

Can't stand them. What's weird is that I sort of remember liking one or two of their early songs, but I have no idea which ones, because they're all awful.

My theory is that they had decent songs in an alternate timeline, but Moves Like Jagger is so bad that it retroactively made their older stuff suck as well.

The controls on PC are still a bit wonky, but other than making it handle more like a standard keyboard+mouselook title, there's nothing that really needs improving.

Besides, if they want to carry on doing remakes, then Code Veronica is the next obvious one.

What will they do about voice acting? Brother Nier would obviously need all new dialogue recorded, and lots of NPCs would need at least a few lines changed. That's a big expense for a remaster.

I'm starting to think we get either Gestalt or nothing.

That does sound pretty cool. The main thing that puts me off multiplayer generally is the people who take it super-seriously, minmax everything and expect everyone to play optimally or they're "doing it wrong". A game with a more "Oh hey, you're here too, let's do this" attitude sounds great.

Problem with 3 is there's no optimal version of that game. You either play FES, with the mediocre gameplay, or Portable with he heavily neutered cutscenes and VA.

There is a 'mod' for P3 FES (actually a set of AR codes) to add full party control. It's a bit buggy, but apparently works.

You still miss out on the better main character though.

I was invited to a D&D1 campaign once. The DM had us pre-generate characters, 3d6 straight down, no customisation. 18 DEX- nice, I wanted to be a rogue. 18 INT "Oh good, we need a wizard and no one else has a decent INT". Great, I get to be useful for three rounds per long rest. I hate having to manage limited resources. 8 CON. So my life expectancy is about thirty seconds.

'Luckily', I sprained my ankle and had to miss the first two sessions due to being unwilling to drive with a sore foot. By the time I could have rejoined, it had already fallen apart.

Youre not kidding though about the seeing it as a child thing though. I must have watched the Mask and Ace Ventura every other day as a kid. I would be going crazy for this movie at that age.

That's part of the problem for me- Jim Carrey is just being Jim Carrey again. It's not Sonic vs Robotnik, it's Sonic vs Ace Ventura, Stanley Ipkiss, Truman Burbank and every other comedy character Carrey has ever played because they're all exactly the same and none of them bear the slightest resemblance to Dr. Robotnik.

Like, consistently making bad decisions about how to spend your time and then realising that you're completely locked out of something significant?

I'm still fairly early in the game I think it's late May/early July. I've cleared the dungeon, but Kanji hasn't woken up yet and suffering from severe analysis paralysis. Between S-Links, raising stats, getting jobs for money (and also stats and maybe even S-Links I think), it already feels like I'm falling behind on things I should be doing, even when I'm making decent progress on the things I am doing.

So, basically, I'm either looking for reassurance that anything I do is fine and I'm not going to get stuck, or advice on what I should be focusing on.

Yeah, they're trying that with Mulan, and fan reaction... doesn't look good.

Personally, I think the trailers are incredible and that it will probably be by far the best live action remake they've done. And it will be a massive flop, generate an internet shitstorm of hatred, and every subsequent remake will be the same by-the-numbers, shot-for-shot-minus-joy rehash as the rest.

Have you already got Baldur's Gate I? Because while II is much better, the best way to play the series is to have both and use a mod to combine them into one massive game (you can also include SoD if you like buggy fanfic).

A worker placement game with two types of worker meeples- I'm thinking a sci-fi setting where it would be droids and humans. Placing a droid on a space gets you better rewards than a human (because droids are more efficient workers), but a human can be assigned to a space that already has a droid, kicking the droid off (because droids don't have rights), and players only get resources at the end of the round if their workers are still present.

So- anyone know if there's a game that does this? Or if not, do you think a game like this would be cool if I had a go at mocking up some more rules?
