Here's my take, and after this imma bounce: I'm english, but I've spent a lot of time in the USA, I have many friends there. One of the really divisive topics of convo was homeless people; my friends, kinda liberal but affluent, would say 'it's a lifestyle choice' And I'd be like 'it looks like a mental health, abuse issue, and healthcare issue to me' I'm talking we did 4000-mile roadtrips, and I was amazed at the homelessness. Years later, despite working my ass off, I've had periods of intense ill-health and almost lost the roof over my head. We (my friends and I) couldn't quite close the socio-cultural issue to meet halfway. --- Ohhh, Elden Ring! |
