I know my mother explained the verbiage of the amendment this past year to me at some point because I initially thought it was a good thing, and I think that must have been why but she told me not to vote for it since that would mean they could regulate it... turns out they already can so I guess we were already boned this entire time. I think the amendment was still needing to pay for electricity use even if you were generating it via solar panels? Anyways the issue here is the requirement to connect the panels to the electrical grid. Most places (not run by corporations) will have you install a switch that changes you from being on the grid to whatever your power supply is (solar, generator). Florida does, but you can't actually use it (lol wat). So the consquence of that is that you have to turn them off if there's a power outage because backfeed is a real issue. An issue entirely caused by the other regulatory bullshit. --- |
