I mean, I could never call it a great movie, but I think it's decent - just very, very stupid. But it's not like that happened by mistake, it's gloriously, willfully absurd. I hated it during my teenage "Bond should be super serious!" phase, but was surprised watching it years later how much of a kick I got out of it. It's like an officially sanctioned Bond parody, making Austin Powers obsolete 20 years in advance.

Also, the bit where Corrine gets killed by the dogs seems to drop in from an entirely different film and it's nightmarish.

I think most people think of Octopussy and remember the Tarzan yell, the gorilla suit, the clown costume... all very silly, yes. But it's up there with Moonraker as one I'll defend for being far better than it's reputation suggests.

Even most detractors wouldn't argue against the pretitle sequence, it's outstanding. Most of the action scenes and stuntwork are great in this one, actually. Orlov is a wonderfully hammy villain. The Yo-yo saws are bizarre yet horrific. 009 being hunted down in clown disguise is, again, bizzare but haunting. And Bond rushing to disarm the bomb is a genuinely tense piece of work.

Worst film for me is easily Die Another Day. Everything else I'll at least be in the mood for very occasionally. But I never, ever feel like watching that one.
