Do a lot of people in this thread not understand that a lot of Victoria Secret's sales come from men buying it for their girlfriends/wives/mistresses? Women don't generally buy lingerie for themselves to just sit around the house in and watch TV. So unless VS is getting rid of lingerie and is just planning on selling underwear and bras then this will effect their business.

My degree/main instrument is the upright bass. I also play mediocre piano, and have gotten fairly (meagerly) proficient at folk and blues singing/guitar/harmonica lol

I played the Tuba throughout high school and some clinicians told me I could have a career if I really wanted to in it... but I didn't.

Has an excellent time helping to lead the band though.

Its a very tough career to make it in but if you can, the payoff is the dream, and even if you cant, the journey is worth plenty on its own

What exactly does having your Masters mean? Is this music history, composing, comprehension, teaching band or something like that?

Its a Masters in Music Performance; essentially, my time is spent taking private lessons and performing to prepare me to take job auditions in orchestras. I also play jazz at my school.

moderate book spoilers beyond the show.

it's kinda the fault of the source material. it should feel better once you watch S6. Books 5 and 6 are mostly one storyline that the show is only half way through.

i feel like all season 4 people told me this about season 5, that it would pick up and get great again. im sure ill finish regardless, cause im in it at this point, just miss the magic and yknow, expansiveness of the first three seasons. they had a great mix of politics, exploration/world-building, and action, and it feels like the latter two have gone out the window this season

in a series about the exploration and colonization of space, Amos has spent the whole season in post-apocalyptic Baltimore on a camping trip

Alex and Bobbie actually have an interesting story, but get approximately 5% of the screen time

worst of all, the core crew has spent 0 time together, and the show opened up millions of new worlds to explore TWO SEASONS AGO, only to not spend any time on them and instead decide to sit in belter-Mars-Earth relations in the solar system even more

what a shame. Seasons 1-3 were GOAT tier, season 4 was a drag, and it seems like this season largely will wind up being one too

Honestly, the more I think about this claim, the less comfortable I am with it. Sure, you can let someone out of prison, and if they've only been there a year or so it might be possible to make up for it - but if someone's been in prison even 5 years, let alone 20 or more, it'll basically be a completely different world when they come out - not to mention all the time they've lost that they could've been making something of their life. You really can't undo that either - you can argue all day about how it's theoretically undoable, or how "at least you can undo some of the damage", but ultimately - the person may still be alive, but their life has been fucked up pretty badly, and it's not likely to ever be fixed.

This is true, of course, theres no fixing it, really, but if you asked the average falsely imprisoned life-sentencer if theyd rather die or be released Im sure they would almost entirely pick the latter. Not to mention bringing their own families into the equation.

I think its easy to say death is preferable to ___ until you are actually faced with death.
