| Azarias 08/13/22 10:29:59 PM #18 | There was a mission in C&C:Generals where you were periodically carpet-bombed by americans (or at least a faction that was nominally them -- haven't played it in a long time so i dont remember much at all) every 5 minutes or so, and your objective was to survive and destroy their base; the faction you played for that mission had a building that basically teleported units between 2 buildings (iirc the building itself was basically an underground tunnel entrance/exit) My 10-11 year old self who had no experience with RTS games (still don't really, this was my only real foray into the genre) devised a strategy of building up a small base, (enough to make troops) hide them in a tunnel, wait for the americans to flatten my base, only to have my troops appear from an exit closer to the target and repeat the process. I couldn't tell you how long it took me (it was quite a while) but I ended up finishing that mission by having my dudes flood out of a tunnel right next to the american base and stomping them into the dirt. Felt like a genius beating that mission, thanks for the flashback TC. --- People are prone to dying. |
