Because they were trapped and wanted out. The pigs were easier to control, but they were unable to change hosts without permission.

Why did they want out

A gang of 2000 demon possessed pigs could cause untold horrors.

They were originally in some dude, it was basically a fleshy prison for them. They tried to get the dude to kill himself, but they couldn't.

I don't remember it like that. I thought they begged Jesus not to cast them into the abyss, so they opted for the pigs.

Like I could be feeling snackish to moderately hungry, and then I start eating, and then suddenly I'm ravenous. The more I consume the more famished I feel; it's like my hunger cannot be satiated. I feel like I argue with her every other time we hang out. It's always about something small and we always resolve it, but I have to wonder if this is "normal" for new relationships

I've been with my bf for almost 6 mons now, and we've already had several pretty heated arguments already -- mostly about little things that somehow escalate. But we've come through it each time and have grown stronger from it, and we've been doing really well these past several weeks (aside from a few snippets we quickly nipped in the butt). Being honest, vulnerable, and constantly communicating has really been the key in sustaining and maintaining our relationship. And sticking through it no matter how difficult things get.

My boyfriend would start to freak out if I didn't reply to his morning text (and following texts), and sure enough would come busting through the door after enough time has passed.

I don't think that "agency" is quite the right word... the player has more agency in this game than most. If you mean that there's a lack of propulsion inspired by the narrative, I'd agree with that.

I don't feel like the game is really pushing me towards defeating Gannon. I do enjoy going to new places on the map and climbing Ubisoft towers, and using the Sheiklah to look for new things to explore. But after the great plateau it acted like Gannon was on the brink of destroying the world, yet here I am gliding around and cooking random fruits and hunting for shits and giggles. Also how did the eat or use the glider if he was a ghost?

Aren't most Zelda games like that? The plot in each game reiterates time and time again that Ganon is about to destroy Hyrule (especially near the end), and yet there's nothing stopping you from taking your sweet ass time to fish or take pictures or derp around.
