Well there goes either match being close to competitive.

Well, that would have been very surprising for Tifa Samus to flip or for Snake/Sonic to defy both the Auron and Zelda results.

Well, for all intents and purposes, they're practically equal, even if Mega Man wins this (and I think he will), so it won't be too far off.

At least the result is consistent.
If Pikachu had randomly got 40 or 60% this time, the stats would have just died.(even more than they already are)

The losers brackets have lowered votals, which helps Pikachu out quite a bit.

Unless the votals are from Gamefaqs registered users, in which case they will support Pikachu and counts double !

But who is the second strongest character ?
Is it Mario ? Cloud ? Maybe Snake (before the contest). Possibily Samus ? Zelda ?
This is far less obvious and I think most would agree the second tends to change from contest to contest.

Our original assumption of Snake/Zelda being a legitimate breaking of the Noble Nine might have to be reconsidered because Zen posted a screenshot on Discord showing several hentai rallies on Reddit that all had at least 100 points or more. Zen forgot to censor the image URLs in the screenshot, so I can't repost the original screenshot without getting modded for it.

Snake had rallies too and minor rallies are considering acceptable.

Also the Noble Nine has been broken in so many ways that the excuses get ridiculous.
Tifa > Sephiroth could be chalked to weird rSFF but at this point, you could have all NN lose first round for the next 10 contests and people would still find excuses.

Solid Snake losing to Auron due to a sprite picture doesn't mean anything for Zelda. Zelda beat Snake using a proper picture.

But even if Snake has a bad picture, he should still be able to beat Auron unless he has really fallen.
And if he is that low Sonic > Snake is possible.

So Mega Man sprite advantage vs Bacondorf.
How much does that affect the result ?
Would it have been a 45-55 ?

While this might be true , I think Pikachu would have beat Sephiroth by more than Megaman.
If only because anti vote and FFVII always win combo.

Oh my! This is huge! The Noble Nine has finally lost a 1v1, 24 hour-match based on the raw vote total!

And if this Zelda wins isn't just Snake having a mega drop , the next match against Sonic should be the first NN loss that isn't close !

Rallies took Snake>Link and Chrono Trigger>Ocarina of Time from us. If there's something to regret about them, it's that.

I'm not convinced about that.
While clearly they didn't work well enough, the Link rallies brought him thousands of votes and gave him 400 cuts on Draven towards the end. Even before, rallies on subreddits nintendo and gaming gave him +200 per updates before they were deleted.
Now, I'm not sure if people would have tried against Snake but that wouldn't have surprised me.
And since CT would not have been nearly as overwhelming as Undertale, I'm pretty sure there would have been rallies for OoT too (and rallying for CT is ... complicated).

It's not a relevant term to contests anymore. (Albeit barely)

I think it's more that there are new characters who can match them like Pikachu or Zelda.
However, even if some of them have weakened, I don't think that changes much except in the matches against the top elites.

Even if he loses the lead, if Snake manages to keep it close enough to Zelda with a few hours left, I think he has a good chance of getting rallied to victory.

I think if anyone is going to get rallied, it's going to be Zelda.

It's funny how even single digit leads are now hard to break.
The same happened with Pikachu vs Mega man.

This is quite the stallfest.
I'm not sure if Snake can do it if this keeps up.

Something to note is that we can expect Pikachu to still be strong in another contest and he is the only one to have stay consistent or gotten stronger with time (during the last contests). For a while you could say Vincent was consistent too but now, welll...
I feel like that makes Pikachu's win is more meaningful because L-Block and Missingno (who did break the streak) were one off.

Also dead or not, it's far weaker than it used to be.

Sephiroth crushed Alucard with 73% in 2003.
Cloud will be lucky if he can score 60% on Alucard.

But then there would be the puny rallies.
And there was a 5 minute downtime that was when Mega Man was increasing his lead.
