That's not true. I recruited Ashe after the timeskip. I don't know under what conditions it's possible however because I wasn't given that option with anything else.

That option only exists if you had recruited them pre-timeskip as far as I've seen. Ashe, Lorenz, and a few others will always leave after the skip, unless youre playing their initial houses route, so they give you the option to get them back. If they weren't in your house already you just kill them

Picking it up after I sneak out of work today

Its okay so far. The ascetics are nice and the music is fine so far but not mind blowing. HQ music is really good. Story is as anime as it gets and I cant say that I care for any of the characters so far.

Gameplay is casually complex. Its easy to get into since there is one button to attack as of my progress in the game. I havent encountered any combo strings so far. Dodge feels wonky. I cant get it down right and even when I do, Im still damaged. The legion mechanic is fine but I wish I had a bit more control over them. No jumping or anything from what Ive played. You can switch between a baton and a pistol for your weapon choice.

Graphics are good enough. There are drops in FPS and the camera can be your enemy at times. Ive also heard numerous reports of the game hard crashing on people. Im only two hours in so thats my initial impressions so far.

Kamoshida good. Rest of game not so good



Unmarked spoilers

From the beginning of the game up to the takedown of Kamoshida, this game was fantastic. Like holy shit levels of fantastic. I don't think I need to explain why Kamoshida was such a great villain. The party member had a personal grudge against him. He felt real of course since he was based on a real person. I could spend this entire topic gushing about the Kamoshida arc. Even the castle palace was really good. Everything from the layout to the demons themselves fit the theme. And then there's everything after Kamoshida...

What were the devs thinking? Writing took a nosedive as the game progressed. It didn't pick back up until the Casino slightly but then it dipped again. Each villain felt more cartoonish after the next. The palaces got worse until the Casino. Then, you have the cruise palace fucking up all over again. The party members were poorly written and that showed throughout the game. Morgana's entirely dilemma about feeling useless made zero sense. Nobody but Ryuji called him useless but that was just playful banter. Morgana dished tons of shit to Ryuji throughout the game but then got butthurt when Ryuji fired back. And we're supposed to feel sorry for the cat? Huh? Ann's entire arc at first centered around her not being seen as a sexual object for Kamoshida and getting justice for her friend. After that, her beauty is played for laughs. "Ann, please pose nude for Yusuke! It's necessary lol". Yes, how funny. Ryuji is involved in one of the worst moments of the game where he saves the party and as a result, they beat him or some stupid shit. Seriously?

Yusuke was just kind of there after his arc with Madarame. Granted, his Confidant was good so that makes up for something compared to the others. Makoto, oh boy. Rename her to "Let me state the obvious and be praised as a genius". That's her entire character. She's perfect from the moment she joins the team and assumes the leadership role. Her only redeeming quality is her ass. Futaba is just as bad. Her hacking skills trivializes any problem in the game. Just have her do "anime hacking" and every problem is solved. Need to know the space palaces key words? Have Futaba do some hacking. Akechi is up to no good? Futaba, hack his phone!

Haru might as well not exist. Her forehead has more of a presence that her personality. Akechi is a mass murdering psycho who killed several of the party's parents yet they were still willing to let him join and defeat Shido. I don't need to say anymore on his character arc. Speaking of Senator Armstrong, I like how every villain and tragic event in Japan is related to this man as if the devs don't have any confidence in the themes of their own game. Why couldn't it have just been a random adult with power who Joker got involved with when he protected that lady? Why not reinforce the notion that any random person can completely fuck you over even though you were just trying to do the right thing and help people? Why couldn't they even bother to try with the writing in Persona 5 after Kamoshida's arc?

This game in nearly 80 hours long at least. If you go on Youtube and look up P5 cutscenes, you'll get nearly 40 hours worth of story comprised in two videos. The player needs a reason to be invested in this game because the shallow stealth mechanics and the tedious combat sure as hell won't keep the player engaged for the entire journey. Nearly every enemy encounter feels the same. At least the music is good for the most part. Some of the boss themes aren't that great compared to the rest of the game's music. Yes, Rivers in the Desert sounds great but it's the only boss theme that really stands out. At least P3 had Master of Shadows, Master of Tartarus, Unavoidable Battle, and Battle for Everyone's Souls. P4 had I'll Face Myself, The Almighty, and New World Fool. Even P1 has Bloody Destiny and Pandora, The Last Battle.

I fully expect people to give this game high praise but the series isn't that great. The humor is subpar and the level design is atrocious. The gameplay becomes mindless and tedious because enemies are bullet sponges especially at higher difficulties. It's a decent looter shooter series elevated to insane heights because it's the only decent looter shooter series these days.

This will win awards because of Kojima's name alone. I will refrain from denouncing the game. This will truly prove if he's a hack or not.

All the games listed in this picture are currently the best games of the year. Resident Evil 2 Remake is phenomenal. The acting performances, the graphics, sound design, horror vibe, gameplay elements.. Truly a superb game with lots of replayability. Regular zombies feel like a threat again.

Sekiro is a fantastic action game requiring actual skill. Great setting. Fun gameplay mechanics. Nice lore. Dueling several of the bosses in this game and making use of the parrying was very satisfying.

Devil May Cry 5 is another great action game. A proper return to form for the series. Just proves that Capcom is back if Resident Evil 2 didn't already.

Fire Emblem Three Houses is easily of the best games on the Nintendo Switch. Despite it's graphical hindrances, the game is a treasure in nearly every other category. Characters and story are both well written. Voice acting is very solid. Music is really good. My biggest complaint is that the game is too easy but that will be remedied once the new difficulties are released... Ingrid best girl

I did try out the multiplayer. My stance on the gameplay still stands. Accomplishes and innovates nothing. Any game with multiplayer can be fun as long as the presence of lag is kept to a minimum.

Is it a bad game? No. Is it a great game? No. It's a solid and well made game but that's all I would personally give it. For people to still say to this very day that The Last of Us is one of the best video games ever made is laughable.

The Last of Us is more of a "cinematic experience" than a video game. The developers even have admitted to this line of thinking. It does not help that director Neil Druckmann has go on quote to say that the word "fun" is not used in Naughty Dog studios when developing a video game. The Last of Us is a game made to appeal to the people who want to feel as if they're playing an actual movie hence the linear progression, limiting animations that restrict responsiveness of the playable characters to invoke the sense of realism, the simplistic mechanics, and the cutscene/walking while talking segments. All of these elements tighten the control of the narrative of the story. It is only natural that The Last of Us feels like it has a strong narrative. While that's fine in itself, it came at the cost of gameplay.

What did The Last of Us do in the gameplay department that set it out from other video games? What did The Last of Us achieve as a video game that a television show or movie could not have done? Absolutely nothing and that, my friends, is part of the problem.

I will give credit where credit is due. The characters of this game are solid and the portrayal of these characters by the actors is fantastic. What about the gameplay? How does it stack up? Not well. Not well at all. The A.I. of the enemy and allies is rudimentary and sorely lacking. I understand what ND was going for but when the enemy A.I. do not react to Ellie or whomever standing right in front of them I take issue with that especially when this game prides itself on realism. Enemy placement and their predetermined routes in a combat scenario tend to be questionable. Some madman and a little girl are killing your squad one by one. Why wouldn't you look behind that waist high desk you just walk by? Of course, this game does become more challenging on the "Grounded" difficulty but it's more frustrating at some points than anything especially towards the end of the game.

I cannot, in good faith, give praise to the story of this game. First and foremost, it's generic and it has been done better. Second, the story is filled with shock value. Many deaths in this game were done to get a cheap reaction. Not to mention how predictable they were. Every plot point in this game was predictable from beginning to end. Third, this game was eye-rolling level of pretentious. "It's not the infected I'm scared of... it's the people!". Excuse me? Being trapped in pitch black darkness with nothing but clickers and bloaters around you is infinitely scarier than a few guys with guns. Don't even try to debate that. I will take my chances with the people. It's even proved in this game itself that they can be reasoned with if you remember the Winter chapter when a character was almost hacked to death. Try reasoning with the infected. You're dead. Finally, there's the ending but that deserves an entire topic to itself.

Words cannot even begin to describe my sheer astonishment at what I just played. To give you a mere glimpse of my feelings, I am currently typing this with one hand while the other hand is still clutching the controller as if it were a newborn baby. I am appalled.

The "story" in this game is nonsensical rubbish. It's writing is an insult to all writing. How could anyone think it's a sound idea to load all of the major story beats towards the end of the journey? For a majority of the game, it's "Alright Sora, go to these worlds and get stronger!"... Okay? Is that really the excuse to go to all these worlds? I miss the days of Kingdom Hearts 1 when it was an assembly of Disney villains gathered together scheming their little schemes. I cannot possibly become invested in this "everyone is half-Xehanort" plotline. Try and describe this to the average person. I bet my only dollar you would be laughed into oblivion.

The worlds are all over the place. The development team clearly did not make a valid attempt with Twilight Town. We, the player, was finally given the opportunity to travel to Mount Olympus itself but it ended in a slightly above average boss fight. This entire game was filled with mediocre boss fights. Tangled was fine but it didn't leave an impact. It was just there. Toy Story? Missed opportunity. The setting itself was great but the development team really should have went for a boss fight with Zurg instead of making it a generic Heartless. People have dreamed about that since KH2 days.

Monsters Inc. was fine but once again, it ended with a generic boss. Frozen is one of the worst worlds in the series. That is all I have to say about it. Even thinking about it sends chills down my spine. San Fransokyo I actually enjoyed quite a bit despite it feeling a but unfinished. I took advantage of the camera feature or what have you. Took many screenshots of Go Go and her impeccable shaped ass. Lads, if she existed in real life, I would lay a pounding that would make the Devil himself look away. God damn

Pirates looked nice. I can appreciate what the development team attempted to do with this world. Travesty that Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden did not actually come back. Complete and utter travesty. Do I want to talk about that gameplay? Not really other than prepare to spam magic and links. God help you if Critical mode is enabled. Enjoy being one shotted from attacks you cannot see.

Music was a huge disappointment as well. Barely any new memorable tracks and we received nothing on the level of Simple and Clean or Passion. Voice acting was fine except for Donald Duck. Sir, I would like to request a sizable YIKES right there. God bless that man.

Come on in and take a seat.

So here I was booting up Smash Ultimate and getting read to clap some cheeks with my baby girl, Wii Fit Trainer <3. I'm in the online quickplay with my settings on 3-stock, battlefield only, 7 minute, no items bullshit. This player I'm matched up against is rocking Ness. Cheap ass character but whatever. The match starts and I'm annihilating this dude. Got him down a stock and he decides to SD the next two stocks. I win.

Here I'm thinking "Okay, sore loser. On to the next match...". Next match, same shit happens with a different player. I'm up one stock and the other player just gives up. Third match. Want to guess what happens? Same bullshit. I stop for one hour or so because I figured a bunch of shitters were playing. I come back and the same garbage happens again. Now, the very next match, I'm up against the most tryhard of Captain Falcon players. He's working me real good and showing me how the butter goes on the toast. I'm losing. I'm at one stock and a high percentage with baby girl while this guy still has three stocks. He's doing the teabag thing or whatever. Of course, baby girl wasn't going to go down that easily. We came back hard. Got him down to one stock after some 4D chess type plays. What does this fool do next? SD and lose the match on purpose.

I'm sick and tired of this nonsense. It's not even players SDing their stocks solely. I'm matched against a Ness/Lucas. Already know what they're going to do. Matched against a Mario and I already know what the deal is. Same with the rats. Same with the Links. Same with the Belmonts. Most players in this game have one playstyle and stick to it like it's their life essence. It's as if adapting to different playstyles is a foreign language to these people. Don't even get me started on the lag sometimes.

And then we get to the constant roster begging. It's so bad that you can barely discuss other Nintendo games without stinky Smash fans crying about when the next character reveal is. Go into a Nintendo Direct and it's "SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH". Complete nonsense. At this point, I hope Daenerys(Edelgard) is the next Smash character just to spite these fuckers.

I could go on and on but you smell what I'm cooking. Fuck the Smash fan base.
