33. Armored Core: For Answer Curtain Fall ~end roll~

Intriguing start into being fueled by the main riff from Something is Always Moving on the Surface. I dont remember precisely how SIAMOTS went, but the line drives this piece. Curtain Call never really does anything besides ride that momentum, and yet it still works to the extent that when it ended at about the 3 minute mark, I went, wait, its over? OTOH, it doesnt have much of an ending. I was expecting it to be building toward something and there was no payoff. Im not too upset about it, though.

Curtain Fall blends elements of some of the OSTs other tracks (of which SIAMOTS is probably the most well known) into one medley. Given how... interesting many of the Armored Core songs can be, this is one of the ones that stood out to me and left me with a pleasing feeling about the game overall.

In the end, I'm happy with where my songs landed, and I'm glad I was at least able to nominate stuff you hadn't heard before.

An okay song, but a little cheesy sounding. I dunno how much of that is the GBA and how much of that is the composer being a fan of late 80s music. Aaand, thats all I got.

Manfred Linzner is definitely a synthesizer-heavy artist. I have a fond memory of the music in this game, so of course it's one of my favorite OSTs. Heavy bias and nostalgia on my part, but I'm glad you at least weren't made miserable by it.

It was entertaining. Not as great as I was hoping, and a long long way from OMF2097, but it's still GIANT FIGHTING ROBOTS.

This.
I've seen a lot of disappointment over this fight, but one thing we should keep in mind is that this is one of the first fights of its kind.
We're extremely used to seeing far more flashy giant robot fights in sci fi, but it's very difficult to do the same in real life.
Give them some time to improve their technology and refine their designs and we'll likely see a lot of improvement in the future.

It's funny how different your opinion of a track is when you're actively listening to it rather than passively letting it play in the background.

For real. I tend to enjoy things a lot more when I'm not trying to be critical. I've had to do that with movies and I end up enjoying myself a lot more.

Also, K is not the only one with one of her memories, as per what the resistance leader said about everyone with one of her memories "hoping that they're the one [who is a child of a replicant]"

Weird. I didn't get that impression at all.
I thought the resistance leader was just saying that in general, like it was something they had each desired, regardless of specific memories.

I remember also getting the first Killer Instinct OST in that topic, each song would be randomly hit or miss, and there was no concise answer on whether I liked them. This one is a cool tune that would be a bit better in more active scenarios, especially since it drags on for so long and doesn't do near enough to make it just a listen objective. I do like the melody, but not enough to hear it for 7 minutes while typing and idling about. 6/10

Yeah. I agree that its length is probably its weakest point.
I do like Mick Gordon's style, though.
