Yep. At base level Tidus only has enough HP to do one Jecht shot. So if you want to win (and I say go for it), make it count.

I used Jecht Shot to score a goal early in the game and then camp behind the goalie (with the ball) until the timer runs out. Not sure if they patched this out in the HD remasters though.

This doesn't help if you want to train your team but if you are only going for the key items like how I did then it's fair. I didn't really care for Blitzball all that much.

If starting off try passing the ball safely as much as possible to get some EXP in.

The strength sphere you get for winning in the scripted match makes Tidus a powerhouse.

If the knife in question is designed to stab and slash, I'd go with that.

Despite having shorter range, a knife is quicker and there isn't as much recovery time if you miss. It also doesn't take much time to reach lethal velocities with a knife stab. A reverse hand grip will allow the user to land a quick and lethal stab.

A bat will require a decent swing to be able to deal enough blunt damage to stun someone. A bat can't quickly land decisive strikes like a knife can. Plus a bat can't deal effective damage at very close range. The handle doesn't have enough mass to deal an effective hilt strike either. The bat user will need to keep the knife user out of range at all times. He also has to make sure he doesn't miss or he will be wide open.

If the bat was required with a spear however, then the choice would be clear.

Whoever lands the first hit wins but if the knife user gets close enough he wins.

Ike became SUPER popular at some point and now everyone probably wants to play his game. However, Path of Radiance didn't age very well and if newly-adopted Ike fans play it they'll probably think it's bad.

Path of Radiance is a good game on its own merit. But to copy and paste it in 2017 would just confuse new players. Plus, Paladins were just outright broken in Path of Radiance.

Because the game has aged just fine (I beat it for the first time 2 months ago) and is actually much better than Awakening or Fates.

And Paladins aren't broken at all. Many of the units are better.

I've finished the game on several playthroughs. Plus, you're wrong on all counts.

Visually, the game didn't look that great. The devs could have definitely refined the graphics considering the power the Gamecube had. Unit design was very simplistic and battle animations were very crude. If two aerial units battled over sea they would literally stand in the water as opposed to fighting in the air for Christ's sakes (this was later fixed in Radiant Dawn).

Most gameplay mechanic changes were received lukewarmly at best. The changes to attack speed made weapon weight pointless for most characters midgame once they attained 16 strength or so.

And paladins were indeed broken in Path of Radiance. Many PoR veterans agree with this. Paladins had high stat caps all around in a game with rather generous growth rates. They all were capable of wielding axes upon promotion in a lance-heavy game (halberdiers/generals). High movement plus the ability to move after an action made them flat out broken.

The game did implement some changes that made it more casual friendly. The changes to support build up is much more practical and BEXP system made it easier to train up new units.

However, Path of Radiance is nowhere near as refined as Awakening or Fates.
