Yeah I just learned it since the Touhou subreddit was way faster than usual. I've been behind on the games. The last Touhou I played was Wily Beast which was 2019.
But the translation patches and practice mode patches usually take a month or so to implement and I always play with those on.

undertale easily. know you said you got spoiled. but go in blind as you can or just do a neutral run first. all 3 runs won't take too long to do depending on how much you struggle on some bosses.

You always have to do a neutral run first. Doing pacifist first as the first neutral run just means you don't have to play the whole game over again to continue to the actual ending and given that TC is on a backlog I suggest they do pacifist first instead of only playing half the game and dropping it because they're not interested in replaying the whole first half again. The only thing they'd be missing is a few different dialogue which is honestly only important to diehards who are really captivated by the differences (which I myself am but I'd think a normal person would want to experience the actual full story content more)

Yep, that's what I meant. They're kind of interchangeable I think. I said he was letting his mask slip off more and more in another topic and got told his mask was always off lol. The point is he's been much more active about it the past month. He wasn't exactly subtle but he knew where the line was and skidded on it whereas the past month he's been dancing past it.

True. I think you inadvertently tickled an irk I developed when I spent nearly 2 years worrying about building a new PC and what parts to buy because I kept obsessing over "future-proofing" it, only to realise later that 1) there's always some new updated piece of hardware coming out soon, 2) tech depreciates faster than anyone would like, in ways you might not expect, 3) there's always a new shiny thing

I mean what if some great games come out on the Switch 2 but by then there's a switch 2 oled, or a new steamdeck or something

Basically I arrived at the conclusion to just buy the parts you need to play the games you like now, which leads me back to why I'm not buying a switch 2 until there's at least 3 or 4 compelling system exclusives.

Very understandable. I do think the current situation and climate is a fair bit different than how it was 2 years ago though.

There is no such thing as an investment on a depreciating tech gadget. It's a fun toy that you can choose to buy now or later. It costs money, maybe a little bit less now than later, but it's never a thing you need or that grows your wealth.

I'm not trying to be pedantic over terminology, I'm just trying to make the point that psychologically justifying toys as "investments" is a problem, imo.

I'm using the term colloquially of course. Perhaps I should've added a "like" in the first sentence. The point is that it's about foresight.

It's an investment. It will undoubtedly have new games of its 1st party franchises exclusive eventually. The question is whether you're going to bet on tariffs making everything harder by then or that you'll get a better deal from waiting for new bundles or models.
