I miss when Squaresoft (Square Enix) was the king of video game ads. You don't even have to know who Yuna from Final Fantasy is, except that once she was singing in a concert and her buddies were fighting off guards in the stands. Never had to play X-2. Yuna is just the dual-pistol bad @%# now.

The only problem with the sequel were the roster leaveouts. Starfire made it but Raven had to sit out? Robin got in but not Nightwing? Hope someone over at Netherrealm took a pay cut for those decisions.

For that matter, what happens when more people end up with criminal convictions and can't find work (or are forced to settle for lower-paying jobs) as a result

A slippery slope in answering this, but you would have some people (at the top) say that is the point. It is more a lasting punishment/prosecution.

As with everything though, the choice would be to just put the product back on the shelf and leave, and this is coming from somebody who used to work in a dollar store (and was expected to watch everybody as well as try to stock a @%# shelf).

that means making decisions about what to overlook so more important things can be prioritized.

In the case of shoplifters though, the 'overlooked' ones can be the ones that don't get blatantly caught (or the ones who don't open canisters up and then leave the stuff open on the shelf).

My late husband would literally fill the dispenser to the top, which is about a full cup of detergent.

I tend to do that too, and pour less based on how small the load is.

Too much detergent not only wastes money, it can actually make your clothes dingier because you might not be able to rinse off all the residue.

This makes sense, but mentally I think people see all the visible stains and immediately think to overuse. And we haven't even gotten into pre-treating over just tossing a day-old dirty load in the wash.

There are trailers to carry a casket, there are venues that rent by the hour and ample planning can keep so many people from needing to ferry the dead half-way across the city. I already never understood why folks needed a limo for a such a somber occasion. Give me a short bus. We're just driving down the block anyway (^-^).
