But it sounds like you admit Star wasn't purpled, so at least you realize that now.

Purpled is more fun to say than UTR2 or whatever the fuck but she still went from absolute nothing stock character who seemingly *only* got time because she found a beware advantage to more than that.

Yeah... "purple" means you're INV, UTR1, or UTR2 in every episode, except perhaps for an MOR3 in your boot episode - the spike in visibility makes it incredibly obvious what's coming.

I've said things before like, in a certain non-canon season, "Dean was purpled for the first two episodes so I knew he wasn't gonna win" - and this is fair, since Dean was UTR1 - INV in those two episodes. Note how I said he wasn't "Purple Dean" since that was only the case for episodes 1 and 2. That's nothing remotely close to, say, Purple Kelly or Purple Chelsea. Other examples include JP in HHH, Leif in One World, and even Hope in Caramoan despite her short longevity. All of the ones I mentioned had 4 confessionals or fewer.

Star was barely in the premiere and one episode doesn't qualify as being purpled, especially since she got a lot more airtime in episode 2 once she found the idol. That started her story, just like Genevieve turning tables on Kishan really kicked off her run. She was probably the best player on 4Several aside from Rachel - if Rachel doesn't win that F5 challenge, Genevieve is at F4 and has a high likelihood to make F3 with enough votes to win. But like with Dean, I knew she wasn't winning based on me not remembering who she was for the first two episodes.

Yeah okay but she was furniture basically until she turned the corner on Eva and suddenly became an actusl character

You swapped the A and B, but yes, in theory domestic Soybeans in country A could become viable and they would not be a demand for the now-more-expensive Imported version.

But that's why Tariffs really only make sense to protect already established domestic industries. Not every country will produce enough of every possible product to meet their own demands.

There's just no world where a blanket punitive Tariff can do more good than harm out could make more sense than rational tariffs set to protect specific important industries

So just wanted to do some napkin math on how our tariffs are meant to work.... Let's assume countries that trade with each other only sell 1 product per country and only buy 1 product per country...

Country A sells $60,000 of Corn to Country B

Country B sells $90,000 worth of Soybeans to Country A

Country A considers this to be a "losing" Trade Deficit so they impose a 33% Tariff on further Soybeans purchased from County B. The 33% is calculated by dividing the deficit of $30,000 by the B->A exports of $90,000.

In theory if the two countries buy the exact same amount of Corn and Soybeans the following year then Country A will still pay $90,000 and County B will still pay $60,000 resulting in the exact same 30k deficit.

But now Country A will also generate 30k in Tariff revenue that will be paid by their own importers/consumers.

So businesses in country A are still only generating 60k in sales, but now as a country they are spending 120k, of which 30k is kept by the government in collected Tariffs.

Yes this is how tarriffs work - BUT the idea supposedly is that Country B will now choose to produce more Soybeans resulting in purchasing 0 soybeans from country A in a year or 2.

My top 3 winner contenders are still Kamilla, Eva, and Kyle, but I'm not so sure about the order anymore.

This shouldn't really be a problem for the Smithsonian. They have hundreds of years of history of dealing with prideful presidents and are far more competent at that than the opposite.

Well yeah, most every promised deduction is just a political marketing trick. It's rare for itemization to beat the doubled standard deduction.

The players I really care about/find interesting so far are Eva, Joe, uh... who is on orange again? Mitch could be kinda compelling but I REALLY hope they aren't building him into this heroic sob story that comes out of his shell and gets voted out near the end as a huge threat. And it already seems like that could be the direction they are going with him. The stuntman (David?) has the potential to be a fun and interesting villain.

I think that's really it so far. Some people I don't even know their names yet.

I think theyve done a great job with all 6 members of purple which makes me think all 6 might make the merge

Really solid first ep overall. I feel like the main 5 people on purple feel very much like core characters of the season.
