I'd recommend a game called Endgame of Devil if you really enjoyed Luck Be a Landlord. It's essentially an RPG version of it.

I barely played C:S this year, so I dunno how it racked up 300+ sessions. The second graph doesn't make ANY sense other than that I did indeed play a bunch of metroidvanias. (I revisited Stardew Valley one day for "farming sim," I didn't play a single roguelike deckbuilder unless Balatro counts, I played a single autobattler, a single tower defense game, and I'd have to see what it considers cyberpunk.)

I just think the "deplorables" rhetoric that's seeping into all the circles where this is a discussion point is really crushing any hope at change any time soon.

I mean I have close friends this affects so I care.

But I also have the luxury of caring because I'm not affected by any single issue enough that it consumes my voting. Which is what a lot of you don't get. Empathy is a luxury for many. The irony is that by instantly assuming people who are affected so hard by other issues that they're automatically unempathic bigots kinda shows you're not really as empathic as you think, you're just using that as a way to preach.

People who were idiots and voted Trump on economy/inflation are probably by and large extremely poor and yeah I don't judge them because they can't be bleeding hearts (I judge them for not doing research and thinking Trump winning would be good for that)

No because legal immigrants have a right to those benefits and are actively contributing to those programs when they're integrated into the system. And before we go on the hypothetical of blanket amnesty and suddenly all these people are "legal" that still puts us back to square one, and now more people are emboldened to come which basically sets us on an endless cycle of this. I don't have a solution to this but we have to draw the line somewhere first.

the problem is that "we" isn't the one who's paying and you're asking for a massive change that does absolutely nothing to people dealing with the worst of the issue here and now. there's a bigger issue of income inequality and the class war, totally.
