I was expecting MCU-like humor but what I got was (and I asked my friend who is a massive DnD nerd if this was true) a true DnD experience but in a bigger screen. My only complaint was that the CGI at times looked terrible but otherwise this was a solid as fuck movie. The amount of times I snickered or even roared with laughter definitely made the experience, even down to shit like the "semantics" of a spell. Hell, I was surprised even Chris Pine's "plans" were really well thought up and creative and actually impressed me. I also loved it when they had a meticulous plan and it still went side ways. It was because of this movie I started doing DnD sessions with my friends and it was a blast. I also heard that since this movie is doing so well on streaming, they're planning on having a tv show spin off with this same gang, which I'm all for. I want to see more of them.

This. @TMOG

I honestly don't know why Goku fans twist themselves into a pretzel to rationalize the rule won't apply to Goku, or why an existing character harshly breaks that rule. ....scratch that, given DB and it's fans I know why....

To be fair, when the poll was done for American votes for the next Smash game (I think it was during Smash 4 or after), for characters to be considered for Smash the top 3 were Sora, Goku, and Spongebob. Only Sora made sense out of the three.

I continue to be baffled at how Horizon ended up so huge when the literal only discussion about it I see is the industry-standard "It sold a bojillion copies" and "look at this Cinematic Experience(tm)"

Like, I see praise everywhere for tsushima, I see praise slightly less everywhere for god of war (albeit in the form of reusable memes), Bloodborne is talked about to this day. I see general vitriol for Last Of Us Part 2 Remake 3rd Strike Ultra, but for Horizon? Nothing. The same one final boss clip and 2 screenshots

It didn't help that both times the games were released, they were easily toppled by two other giants, Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring.

James Bond originated from live-action movies but Sakurai still considered him for Smash (either 64 or Melee, maybe both, I can't remember)

That was from a Japanese vote and not Sakurai's consideration of James Bond being in Melee. His first and important rule regarding inclusions to Smash was always "originated from a video game".

If we're being honest, abortion but in cases of exception essentially means you are pro-choice. Pro-life position only makes sense if you're 100% against abortion even in cases of "exceptions" because otherwise you don't care about the fetus but only when it's convenient for you. Sure the pro-life position means you're heartless, but otherwise the premise of being pro-life makes no sense.

Being a UPS driver. It's one of the few jobs I know where you can earn up to 6 figures without a degree. The onboarding time to get to being one is pretty damn long, can be at minimum 6-7 years and even one saying it took him being a preloader for 10 years before they even considered him to be a driver. Sure you have to work overtime, but the pay and benefits (in my opinion) more than make up for it.

I met my wife when I participated at a soup kitchen event and I'm an atheist. It depends entirely on the gym you go to and its culture. For the general, non-private gyms like Planet Fitness and 24 Hours, it's a "work out, leave, and mind your own business type of place". There are some private gyms I used to go to where you meet many regulars that some people go to them to hang out as well as work out.

You only get fast shipping from Amazon if you get prime, which you are already paying a subscription fee for. On top of that, the reason shipping is fast and cheap is because Amazon goes in the red on it, they make up for that by taking up the majority of the online space market share as well as their stock prices. While it sucks that most other online spaces aren't as convenient as Amazon, I still think they need to exist in order to avoid an oligopoly.

https://www.ign.com/articles/the-boys-season-4-review-prime-video

The Boys Season 4 is a solid crash back to earth for Prime Videos anti-superhero satire. With so much ground to cover both ongoing stories and new plotlines Season 4 could have benefited from being a couple episodes longer. Everyone in Butchers crew is dealing with some messed-up issues while Homelanders co-conspirators tiptoe around Vought Tower, trying to keep their bodies in one piece. Season 4 feels like a fuse slowly fizzling toward the last episode, but the fireworks it ignites are relatively dinky compared to what The Boys has done in the past. Maybe that sounds harsher than it should because theres still plenty of what I love about The Boys packed into a season scarred by sorrow, heartbreak, and so much angst. Its just hard to be as excited about Season 4 after the back-to-back bangers of Season 3 and Gen V Season 1.

They gave it a 7/10

You can read the whole article, but it sounds like they're tip toeing again in this season. The reason Season 3's finale felt flat was because the ending of the show felt like everyone went back to ground zero. No new development, it's back to the same thing we've seen already. They're afraid to commit to anything too much and I think this season will have the same problem as well. I'll still watch it, but I hope they have the balls to follow through with any big developments and to not fizzle out.

I think you guys are being unfair to people who prefer Melee in the competitive scene. It's not just "living in the past", this is a common thing in the FGC in general when it comes to fighting games. There's a reason MvC2 scene is bigger than MvC3 and MvCi, some people prefer the old mechanics from older game that require different dexterity or when a fighting game changes certain things because they don't like their game being played a certain way (like how Tekken 8 Heat Mechanics makes the "defensive" strats from Tekken 7 not as effective and effectively makes the game more "aggressive").
