It's both a "lucky quarter" and just a coin. What matters is one's perception of it. We thought Llewellyn was special, that he would have a different way through the world compared to everybody else involved, but it turns out he was just a coin, too. None of the characters were special, including him. Things happened to him the same way they happened to everybody else in the story.

Basically, it's mimicking real life in this sense. The climactic showdown doesn't always happen. Reality is gritty and unclean, and a lot gets left unseen and unsaid.

This is true, but a lower fatality rate is a good sign regardless. It's a massively contagious virus either way. While a variant like Delta might take longer to infect the entire population than Omicron, the end result is more favorable with Omicron than Delta.

As an experiment, imagine that the entire global population eventually contracts covid. Whether it takes 3 years with Omicron, or 5+ years with Delta, each human being on earth in this scenario will eventually experience covid.

90% of the time it's "step siblings" who aren't blood related, and the actors sure as hell aren't actually related. It's weird, but easily ignored.

The more evidence that comes out on Omicron the less optimistic I feel.

Based on reports I've seen, the number of hospitalizations has been rising slower than the number of new cases. Nobody said Omicron was toothless, but as of right now it does seem to present significantly less danger than previous variants.

It is still dangerous, if course, but it's an encouraging trend in the virus' evolution. Further variants, according to the kind of people who study virus evolution, will likely see a further reduction in deadliness. It's advantageous for a virus to be less deadly when it comes to prolonged survival.

My local Chinese place is my favorite restaurant in my entire city. So... no. Not even close lol

This article doesn't give enough supporting information to draw strong conclusions like this. It says there's a high number of people in the hospital, but neglects to mention how many of the cases are severe or in the ICU. It also leaves out important context such as the percentages of new cases requiring hospitalization compared to the percentages in the previous spikes.

Please don't make topics like this with conclusions that are unsupported by the information in the article. That's called extrapolation, and I don't think you're qualified to make such judgements about Omicron based on a half-finished BBC article.

This is a sensible and well-plotted scheme. I think you should do it. But make it ~$66 in credit because taxes.

In the first one, it was mostly just Tony being a wise-ass while everybody else around him played the 'straight man' for him to bounce off of. After a while, everybody kind of adopted the same sense of humor and characters became a lot harder to tell apart.

If you take some of the scenes from Age of Ultron and scrub the names off the script, you would literally not be able to tell who made which jokes.
