A reality we'll have to accept is that 3d printing will probably be largely banned and heavily regulated. The designs of these will become better and smaller and more powerful cause you have what is essentially an open source internet community designing them that way. It will get to where the quality of all 3d printers will make them into potentially dangerous weapons manufacturing operations.

What they will probably do first is make any such designs highly illegal, I think there may be some things like that already. But it will essentially become like illegal pornography (I don't even like saying the actual term) in terms of legality.

But in the end, I don't see a way of getting around them eventually heavily regulating the printers themselves.

Those stock footage/cgi shots of the big cities are so cringe. If you're gonna make a low budget movie, just do the whole thing in that style. They look so disjointed from the actual scenes they show.

On one hand, I actually enjoy 6th gen graphics a lot. If games could keep those and just get better in every other way, that woud be awesome....

On the other hand, I hate lazy and greedy publishers who don't give their devs time/money to make the games they want to. Definitely think Nintendo falls in that category for most of their IPs (Smash is the only one that did a big blowout game, and I think that's only cause Sakurai has clout and a level of control other devs aren't afforded)

It's mostly cause my job has just been totally burning me out. Sick hours started over for the new year, so I've been taking off a day or 2 each week.

I'd recommend psychadelics (specifically shrooms/Psilocybin). They allow you to see yourself from outside the box. A trip I had, specifically to face certain issues literally changed my life and helped me get out of the single worst depression I had ever been in.

Well he made Double Dragon, and most other beatemups after that followed that DD's template of a sidescrolling level full of enemies (Final Fight, SoR, you name it) and that's all there is to it.....

..... but that same dev who essentially created the beatemup perspective, went onto also make River City Ransom, and an even more advanced RPG sequel on the Super Famicom (Shodai Nekketsu Koha Kunio Kun). These are RPGs using the beatemup perspective, with day-cycles and shops and characters to talk to. That is the potential he saw in the genre, but no dev has ever really followed up on that idea other than a few niche indie devs who make incomplete games.

Anyway, not trying to take over your topic. I also love the look of that engine. The mixture of pixel art with 3d geometry is awesome.
