Match 1 is rough for me - from the "4-pack" that involves this round's contestants and R1 losers, Servants is really the only one I enjoy the most. But I guess I can go with the jazz tone that Ink Long Dry is going for, just this once.

Easy pick.

Archylte is probably my least favorite arrangement of The Promise so far, as much as I like the melody. As for FFIX, I've not been so crazy about it overall but Roses of May is definitely working for me today.

I don't mind ballads, but Eyes on Me isn't doing much for me. I like the general sound of Antipyretic more, but I wish there was more to its melody.

Easy win for Valse, I definitely prefer the VIIR version of Aerith.

Yuna's theme isn't that impressive to me, but I haven't really been feeling most of IX's soundtrack this contest so easy vote there.

Think I prefer the original Bombing Mission more, but this version is good too.

Match 2 and 4 - painful to pick, but going with Yusnaan for the overall experience and JENOVA for the fact that the short version of Blinded by Light handles its energy better.

God, what is this match 4...Easily one of the better XIV songs we've had this contest going up against the goodness that is Mystic Quest's battle themes. Battle 1 barely wins it here for me, but I won't be sore if Insanity moves on.

Match 1 is super mean to start off with, dear lord. I can feel the repetition a little more in Valse, but the instruments are wonderful to listen to and the melody keeps reminding me of Waltz of the Damned from Kingdom Hearts. Whatever wins here, I'll take it.

Dragonsong just barely beat it out, I definitely like the Remake version of Aerith's Theme more.

Magitek has that mechanical rhythm I like hearing in certain songs, while I can't get a good feel from Dark Messenger just yet.

Yuna's Theme sounds like it borrows a little too much from Aerith's Theme to me, and while repetitive, The Legend Begins gives me that nostalgic feeling that I'm gonna be enjoying the new adventure I'm about to play.

Match 1 is really close, Lava Dome barely beat out Clash in my book; will happily see any advance for that.

Good King Moggle Mog is so Tim Burton it hurts, gotta go with it for now.

I probably really need to check out X-2's soundtrack in closer inspection after this, Farplane and Mt. Gagazet please my ears so much.

Yusnaan is fun to listen to, sorry Cloud.
