I don't think anyone in the gaming industry has to worry about amazon in the immediate future.

New World has been an absolute clusterfuck. The devs have been receptive to community feedback, which is great, but from a "tribal knowledge" perspetive at amazon, they're not even in the realm of AAA territory. They're still developing on the level of an AA-medium size independent, like a digital extremes or hello games. They'll either years more experience, or a serious talent injection to start developing on the same level of a first party AAA sony, nintendo, or microsoft studio.

Charlie is a variety streamer. He's great at talking about random shit, they could do anything from playing a game, to card unboxings, to just shooting thet shit and talking about random topics. Really the only limiting factor is just getting approval from HL management if it's a game.

Almost all these ip are bascially irrelevant now. CoD still sells big but it is kinda dying with every release and it not like MS hurting for an FPS ip since they have Halo.

WoW may still have subscribers but they are all miserable and the lore and world has been milked to death. FFXIV basically took off like a rocket last year and this kinda makes the idea of MS "fixing" wow seem like a crazy fanboy fantasy.

Overwatch. This is probably the best buy. It made headlines years ago and then got stale. There is still lots of space to explore however as Valorant is very similar and the big game atm.

Diablo. Diablo could still be fleshed out. There isn't too many huge AAA games like this. D4 prob had many buyers regardless of Blizz shenanigans.

Starcraft. This game was milked to death. There is very little than can be done with it save for rebooting it, taking a poop on established lore or doing prequels. None of that sounds appealing.

CandyCrush. Lol.

Spyro. This could be a good buy I guess. However, wasn't this basically just a cash-in amiibo clone game for the last gen?

Seems to me the biggest thing to come from this is just to deny ps5 CoD and Overwatch.
Most these other games irrelevant to the ps5.
Diablo 3 did release on consoles but idk.

Microsoft seems to think otherwise, and they've been more or less hitting home runs the past few years. I don't even particularly like Blizzard (I was a command and conquer guy growing up, and currently play FFXIV), but this is exciting news regardless. There is a very high ceiling that some fresh leadership could get with these IP's. The name recognition alone will sell titles like hotcakes.

There are a bunch of holo talents who collab with guys regularly (pretty much all the ID girls, matsuri, fubuki, and some others). They havn't let the EN girls do it yet because it's new territory for them, and you know who chickenshit hololive can be at times.

I'm not too informed where Sony stands so the war if there is one is only between Sony and Microsoft. Although I'd say the war is likely more of a fan war. Has Sony and Xbox shown to care for each other?

Nintendo pretty much set themselves apart with the Wii and operate in a different market to a different type of consumer, the gamecube was the last time they tried to compete directly. Even xbox publicly acknowledged at E3 with the wii that it was a good companion system to the 360 at the time.

PC gaming, however has been growing in japan massively the past 10-15 years. Microsoft's business model isn't about pushing hardware. It's about pushing Gamepass, with the xbox hardware solution being a vector for people who don't want to game on PC.

People said the same about Bethesda games. This seems very much about forcing Sony to do what Microsoft wants.

They've forced Sony to come out with a gamepass competitor on PC. Gamepass has cross play and cross buy baked in, so Sony would be dumb to not follow suit.

This is nothing but a positive for the consumer. More options for us, who cares of a multinational corporation like Sony doesn't find it ideal to force people into a hardware solution with a predatory monetization scheme.

Microsoft's gaming culture is far more gamer-friendly than Activision's has been.

After fallout 76, and the constant skyrim rereleases, I had zero desire to touch another bethesda game aside from doom. With Todd/Zenimax no longer calling the shots and poisoning their games with overmonetzied bullshit/anticonsumer bullshit (them trying to yeet and delete the modding community), I am optimistic.

Mathematically speaking, it would be totally feasible for Sony to acquire Square Enix.

Square Enix may simply not be for sale, or looking for a takeover. Japanese companies tend to operate a lot differently than western ones when it comes to the leadership looking to get a big payday and dump the company.

I am optimistic about this. Microsoft has done right by the customer the past few years with their acquisitions. I mean they just revived Age of Empires for crying out loud.

My internet today sucks though. But I'll take that over the alternatives.

I had about 3-4 inches of standing slush on my driveway. If it was "dry" snow, I could easily see it being around 8 inches. Such a pain in the ass to clean off. My snowblower was struggling, and even then I still had a nice layer of wet slop left over. It's gonna suck now that it's below freezing again.
