I recently played through Candle: Power of the Flame for $2 on PlayStation store. It was a great puzzle game, but not in the same way as Portal or Talos. This is a 2d puzzle game probably similar to Machinarium?

My only complaint was the sluggish controls and the occasional obtuse puzzle. But I never needed to use a guide. I just thoroughly searched every screen and finally found the answer.

I got about 24 hours out of it! Really enjoyed this.

At one point, I wanted to call this The Unofficial sequel to Portal 2. But I don't think that's fair. This game is different but similar?

I purchased the deluxe version for only $11 and it comes with the DLC too.

I recommend you try this once in your life.

Although neither of these games (Nioh 1/2) are better than Dark Souls games, I really did enjoy A LOT of boss battles in Nioh 2. Really great designs.
