I found the phasmid and got the pic and everything, plus I recruited Kim. A lot of people died at the tribunal though. The phasmid was especially satisfying since I never gave up on it, and used the pheromones which helped.

I was an intellect/dex build.

Nah I get you. And I agree to a point. But the metoo movement definitely changed things. It put power into the hands of the people. Disney isnt going to list twitter as the reason they fired Gina Carano or Rosanne, but to pretend public outcry had no effect on the decision is incredibly naive.

Look at all the crazy stuff actors got away with saying before the twitter age. Are you just going to chalk that up to coincidence?

Sometimes public outcry, or even Twitter, is responsible. Sometimes. But 99% of those times its justified, so being cancelled is usually justified. And it normally doesnt even stick. J.K Rowling still has a platform and more money than God.

Nah not at all. But his position as president superseded all that (for awhile anyway), and twitter basically looked the other way for as long as they could.

But they came under intense scrutiny during the Jan 6 stuff, and alot of people blamed them for giving him a soapbox to speak from. To me, all of that pressure still falls under the umbrella of being canceled.

I just dont see how its the same. For example an actor who sexually harasses or rapes a co-worker, losing work or movie deals or whatever just seems like normal consequences?? Trump breaking Twitters rules, using the platform to incite violence, and then being kicked off, is just normal consequences. It doesnt matter when they come or if people looked the other way before. Same with sexual harassment. Public pressure has little to do with it if the consequences are proportional to the harm done and should be the usual way it goes. If that makes sense.

To me, being canceled is when a group of people decide to either end your career or silence your voice. And in Trumps case, even though the social networks pulled the trigger; mob rule rendered the verdict.

are you saying that Trump didnt break any rules or misuse the platform in any way?

I did actually consider Trump, but not till after Id already made the topic, (so I just rolled with what I had). That said though, Trump absolutely was canceled. He was kicked off of twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. And his fan base took a hit after Jan 6.

Is that cancelled or is that just normal, reasonable consequences? What does cancelling actually mean, in your mind?
