| Delirious_Beard 10/18/21 4:57:18 PM #7 | damn that's a shame. might just drop it then the next time i run into an annoying dungeon my absolute least favorite thing has to be how the beemerang always goes a set length, even if it makes contact with something well before then. so basically if you're trying to hit a switch that's a short distance away from you, you have to reposition yourself constantly. there just does not seem to be enough polish here for such increased precision in puzzle design compared to early Paper Mario. and honestly maybe those games having such simple puzzles was a good thing, because the depth issues caused by the z-axis make a lot of these puzzles excruciating. but god damn imagine if Origami King had this battle/badge system. would be the best game in the series --- https://imgur.com/hLHUnOI You act like I don't know my own way home |

| Delirious_Beard 10/18/21 4:14:50 PM #1 | i'm about as big a paper mario fan as it gets but this game is starting to get kinda annoying. the combat is p good (and just makes me sad that Paper Mario threw it in the trash later on) but the overworld traversal is kind of...not fun. the puzzles in this game can be quite irritating, the boomerang ones especially are bad, and the platforming is frustrating because the developers don't seem to understand how much more difficult interacting with the z-axis is. i just finished up the 2nd chapter, but please tell me i'm not going to be doing sliding ice block and "hold this switch" puzzles for the rest of the game --- https://imgur.com/hLHUnOI You act like I don't know my own way home |
