As someone who'd be casual as hell, the game just looks boring. Every single character moveset I've seen looks mostly the same with the only difference being whatever minor effect they put on it.

Like I just looked at the Strong Down attacks for Aang, Reptar, Korra, Nigel, Oblina, and Helga. I'm sure they're vastly different in mechanical terms and they'll play very differently for a fighting game pro, but to me? As someone who doesn't give a shit about any of that? They're virtually identical.
