You can get a FHA loan with only 5% down. If you can't do that then I don't know what to tell you.

My uncle started out in the 1970's making 2.35 per hour. His rent was $250 per month. His entire paychecks after taxes barely covered his rent and that's if he got a full 40 hours. It did not cover food, electricity, water, garbage or phone. There was no free Obama phones, there was no free Healthcare, there was no internet. If you wanted a job, you had to get up and go find one. There was no applying for it online because there was no online. If you were a man, you could not get food stamps or any assistance. You just couldn't.

For example in the Seattle area minimum wage is right around 17 an hour. If you work 40 hours a week, you easily make 600.00 a week. There are tons of apartments in that area for 1100.00 per month. So not only will minimum wage afford an apartment, you can also afford food and utilities. You can also get free phone, Healthcare and government assistance.

You can close on your own home in 90 days. If it's too expensive then get a better job. If your credit is bad then pay the debts you agreed to pay. Take responsibility for your decisions.
