Yeah, if you can't side with one or the other completely and totally, they get offended that you even part way understand where they are coming from and why you are not fully on board with them. It's kind of tough not wavering one way or the other, people don't seem to get that.
Posts like this just reinforce my belief that "centrists" don't understand politics.
You think there's no infighting amongst Democrats or Republicans? You're the one literally painting politics as a sports game and choosing not to pick a side because you don't want to examine your beliefs and the beliefs of the parties. No one is going to identify perfectly with any particular party, that's why there's primaries, local elections, and ways to influence your representative (and plenty of ways this system could be improved). But instead you're conflating your ignorance with intellectualism.

It's just a way of simplifying things to save yourself from having to give any real thought into individuals
You can have issues with Dems on gun control, or spending, or maybe you're an abortion issue voter - but vagueposting like you are is exactly "feel[ing] superior to others by not taking any kind of stand and believing in nothing."

If you have specific issues, hammer them out at lower levels. Argue in the primaries, or at local levels of government. When you can't cite specific issues but still cling to centrism all you're doing is serving the status quo.

It's just a quick ancient gag. It's not that the old store was literally "Chuck's Fuck and Suck" (though it could have been), but it makes you think about it. The joke itself is just barely above fart humor, but the subtlety makes it creep up on you and laugh. It's similar to depression era humor, it doesn't have to make sense logically, but rather creates a linguistic joke when you piece it together.

They're pretty tied together. Sang-woo could have dropped out altogether in any of the final 3 games. He chose to keep going because he'd kill people for money. He put himself in debt. He chose to kill people for money. That's what he wanted to do, kill people for money. Even from before the Squid Game, he willingly chose to try to screw other people over for money. He was being investigated by the police even beforehand. He was not a good person and probably deserved to rot in prison.

Right now, the Democrat party is sitting on its laurels with a flatly spoken "better than Trump" as its rallying cry. Meanwhile, the Republican party is being galvanized in the worst way. Not all Republicans are bigots, hatemongers, or insurrectionists, but right now I don't think you can win with Republicans if you don't fall into one or more of those categories. If they don't get Trump, they'll get De Santis. If they don't get De Santis, they'll get someone even worse.
Dems have had a lot of wins this week alone and have pushed a bunch of their policies. They've had one major loss (job growth) and one major road block.
If the Supreme Court sees the abortion case and rules for Texas there could be a big blue wave.
Republicans, meanwhile, have seen loss after loss this week alone and are still losing out on the mask front, vaccinations, and debt ceiling.

Voter apathy was always going to be a big factor for 2022 and 2024, but it's ultimately going to come down to the candidates. Voters have a short attention span and what's happening now won't matter too much in polling booth.

MHA is derivative generic manufactured junk food. There's practically no substance, no stakes, and almost no interesting characters. The MC "tries hard", ignoring the hard work of almost everyone else because he's, ironically, chosen. Nothing really matters, there's very few impactful or interesting fights, and I really don't get why anyone over 20 would like it... Double is the best character :'(

Naruto has a TON of problems, but there is also a ton of raw emotion seeping out of the story, especially pre-Shippuden. Naruto, Sasuke, Rock Lee, Gaara - all characters that certain people will immediately relate and identify with, and that's what makes it such a powerful story.

One Piece does everything MHA wants to but 100 times better.

Bleach looks cool sometimes. Kenpachi's a cool dude.

I absolutely am reinventing the wheel because I need to rebuild my Java skills. It's like telling a programming student, "don't write HelloWorld.java because it's already been done before."

I wanted to work on a project to refresh my coding skills a bit and decided on making a text-based (for now?) game. It's going to be Adventure-style pick-a-path (North, South, East, West, "Torch", "Ye Flask") but with RPG style fights.
So far, I've got the first branching path. If you go North you run into a group of four skeletons and enter a fight. The game prints out your HP and the enemies HP (probably should clean up the formatting), then you can choose an action to take: Attack, Skills, Items, Run.
That's all I've got so far. I've got some ideas for the story and mechanics written down, but not solid ideas. I'm coding in Java and my coding is still very rusty so it's taken me about 10 hours to get this far, but I'm getting the pieces in place to expand as needed (interfaces, classes, methods, etc). Trying to do it "right" as much as possible.

Also, finally going to take part 1 of the TIA A+ in a few weeks. Shouldn't be too hard besides memorizing port numbers.

The blue zip, by Barnett Newman, posted earlier has a lot of historical context, but it's also really just meant to make you think.
Personally, I really like the monochromes by Yves Klein like this: https://www.tate.org.uk/art/images/work/T/T01/T01513_10.jpg
There was a whole Love Death and Robot about this. His other work is more involved, definitely worth checking out by GameFAQs standards, but the really bright plain blue image just immediately draws your eyes and catches your imagination.

For something a little easier to digest, check out Salvador Dali. It's hard to post one without accidentally posting nudity, but you've definitely seen them some of his art before and most pieces have some intentional meaning behind them.

I'll give it credit that the gacha units don't power creep that much and old and free units are still pretty viable if you use them right.

Most of the power creep comes from raising the level cap. The only way they can make money from that is if you buy stamina, and honestly who does that >_>
Compare Archie to Cheren...
Olivia is good because her sync grid is good. Even so, Emet is a much better unit.
Even Red is gradually getting outclassed by the likes of Leon and probably Reshiram.
Summer Steven fell off incredibly hard.

I think there's definitely been more power creep from units than raising the level cap from 120-140, which is something like a 10% increase. They've done a pretty good job at keeping older units relevant, but I think it's mostly because 1. the game is pretty easy, 2. new units don't come out fast enough to fully replace old ones. Most of their money comes from people buying gems to 3/5 or 5/5 their waifus.

I'm still waiting on that OP Agatha grid, though...

2800/160 = roughly $17.5/hr
4200 a month means you worked 53.33 overtime hours at $26.25/hr.

Somehow you went from a 21.5% tax bracket to a 28.5% tax bracket.
Of that, 6.2% is social security for both, 1.45% for medicare, leaving 13.85% and 20.85% respectively. I can probably guess what state you live in >_>
The largest tax jump (proportionally) is from 12% at $40,125/yr to 22% at $40,126/yr, which you might be running into. So, post-tax, you went from making $13.7/hr outside OT (at 21.5%) to making about $18.7/hr (at 28.5%, and $12.5/hr if you work more non-OT somehow) inside OT because you got pushed into a higher tax bracket.
How much did the EXTRA taxes hurt you? In your example, you made an extra $1400. Being taxed at 22% instead of 12% lost you $140 dollars. If you include SSI and medicare, it's down to $98. So of the extra $1400 you made, $98 of the $1200 taxes you paid was from being put into a higher tax bracket. For 53.33 hours of overtime, you lost 3.7 hours, or half a regular 8 hour day. The other $1102 in taxes was money you'd have paid anyway.

And, BTW, everyone under $60,000 a year would be LOSING money moving to a 15% flat tax rate, everyone over would be making HUGE gains. Deductibles might even that out, theoretically, but most flat plans include removing those except for ones that would only benefit the rich.

Holden Caulfield is unlikable (and if you like him, seek help), but still a good story.
The narrator in The Great Gatsby is unlikable, Gatsby kinda is too, but it's still a good story.

If a character's motivations and goals are interesting, you can still craft a good story with unlikable characters. I dislike Wuthering Heights because I don't care about any of the characters' goals or motivations - and the characters are unlikable. I would read a whole book about Severus Snape just to get his perspective. Not everyone has to be 20 Charisma Joe the Bard.

12, 13, 15? Up to personal opinion.
FF2 is the worst FF. Ridiculous Star Wars story, awful leveling system, awful balance, awful dungeons (Pandemonium), some of the worst music of FF (literally rips off Tchaikovsky, Chaos Temple from FF1, almost everything else sounds like it's from Dragon Quest, and the Chocobo Theme is incomplete), even the sprites are kind of bad. It really feels like more of a cash grab than any other FF before the series found its feet.

And, yes, the lack of side quests and minigames is a huge issue in FFXIII as well, but that's a part of the linearity issue. One of the common complaints is that you go to a town that you'd really like to explore and the game just doesn't let you. It's all related. The game is just "run forwards, fight battles, fight boss, cutscene, repeat" for a very long time.
