I'm agnostic. I don't believe in God. I just find the subject interesting.

Well, either way, diving into all that material is a worthwhile endeavor if only to start activating light bulb moments about the depths of culture itself in our societies.

Look up the etymology of Satan. In some bibles, he is actually referred to as the adversary. What other books are you referring to? The Gnostic gospels? Nothing you say is in there either. It sounds like you're sourcing Middle Age theology

I would go to the book of Jubilees, book of Jasher (Upright/Righteous), Macabees, all of the apocrypha removed from 1611 King James, and the book of Enoch, and then start cross referencing across a bunch of other religious offerings of the day when all these books took place and you'll see that all roads that do not lead to God lead to some form of Satan under a slew of different names (it's insane how many names can be traced back to that fucker). After that, to understand the bigger picture of what is happening you have to try and understand all the myths of the world and how they connect and draw the similarities. Check out all the stuff you can find on Mt. Hermon too.

To kick in, add in all the scientific knowledge we have today (I suggest Tesla as a big influence) and the understandings we are starting to grasp on about the concepts of other worlds and quantum physics.

It paints a giant weird picture that is hard to unravel. And does require having to decide on some conclusions for yourself.

But, as a believer, if you're going to walk that road, God will undoubtedly let you know what is true and what isn't over time. Even if you just have to wait until the very very end when we pass this life by.

Like none of that is in the Torah, or the Old Testament or the New Testament...

Satan is mentioned once in the Old Testament and in Hebrew it literally means "adversary" like in a debate, like the debate they were having over Job's love of God...and in that debate, God is the one that seems like the asshole

Satan does mean Enemy. It refers to the fallen one from Heaven, directly.

And yes, the Bible is the streamlined stuff. Gotta dare to venture outside to the other books that it also references. If it helps in the modern day translation, think of the Bible as the summary of the franchise. If you want to know the deets, you gotta go find all the books. Unfortunately, you also have to kind of have to wade through some of the bullshit fanfic to find the true stuff that aligns back with God and the Bible. You would be surprised how much shit actually does when you take the time to fucking read and practice reading comprehension.

Edit: on the point of Job (missed that part, my bad), I would say that Job never complained. If he had, do you think for one second that God wouldn't have upended Satan immediately and undone everything? I believe God absolutely would have put a stop to it and restored to Job. Instead, Job didn't complain and accepted his eternal reward in Heaven which he no doubt received.

But why did he have to test it? If he knows everything, he already knew Abraham would do that.

Also why did he have to "sacrifice" Jesus at all? Why not just forgive people?

Also isn't he Jesus anyway?

Also Jesus knows he's going to be resurrected and is God and has super powers and will live in heaven forever, so it really wasn't much of a sacrifice.

Free will is a thing. Think of the "Minority Report" concept. You can't convict someone of a crime until they actually commit the thing. Until that moment, they always have the option not to do it. And God respects that, even if he might already know the outcome (which suggests that He sees multiple possible outcomes and He waits to see it through, which might also explain why the book also says He is eager to forgive). So He can't reward either, until the thing has been performed. Also, as has been suggested, the people who are not omniscient in that manner also need to see for themselves and to themselves. That's one of the biggest aspects of God. You must approach of your own free will and obey of your own free will.

The sacrifice of Jesus has a lot to do with the fall from the Garden and what Satan did and the power Satan holds over the Earth because of it. Think of the Earth as cursed and God designed the fence of the Torah as a fence to protect from the field of that curse. The blood covenant at Mt. Sinai after they were pulled up out of Egypt had a lot to do with the beginning of the restoration of what happened in the Garden and the results of what happened in the days of Noah.

The original hope seemed to have been that the generation with Moses could produce children that would adhere to the Torah long enough to stamp out the genetics of the Nephilim and Fallen Angels and to eventually produce a perfect generation that could finally ascend. But of course the golden calf happened and destroyed that hope.

So, His son agreed to take the task on and save us all by going to the cross and fulfilling that covenant, when He did not have to. Which is more the point. Plus, He did do it with all the same temptations we had and more, with some straight from the devil himself. He never refuted the devil when the devil told Him that he knew that angels would be by His side in a moment (a trick to expose himself, for the devil knew not for sure who He was at that time) and could fuck over the course of prophecy if He did it. So, knowing He had the option of free will not to, makes it a little more impressive, especially if we consider that God can see an outcome where none of the good did succeed.

I know that probably raises a fuck ton more questions, but to understand that, it takes accepting that a lot of what you understand about God is probably wrong, especially if the only places you ever heard about it from are TV (mainstream media), society, and your local Baptist preacher shouting at you.

I just want to point out that a basic concept between Abraham and God was the parallel they share.

God who exists outside of time and space as we currently know it knew that His only begotten son would also sacrifice Himself to save as many humans as possible. So it makes sense to draw the conclusion that God would then test to make sure there was at least one human alive somewhere that would do the same for Him out of the same extreme love (and by someone who had yet to know fully of His son's sacrifice). And Abraham was that dude. According to the canon Isaac was cool with it too, so you get a double parallel.

I have a hard time making fun of that console. At most, you could say that it didn't have a proper Sonic title and they abandoned it way too quick to be stabbed in the back with the Dreamcast venture. Otherwise, a solid system that was just a little ahead of the curve for developers at the time. Fun games.

Yeah, no. GTA4 had a few songs removed because their licenses expired.

GTA4 already had a subpar soundtrack to begin with.

That said, I'm not exactly excited for these remakes anyway. Might add some value if they also included the vice city and liberty city stories games. Otherwise, I just don't see it being worth it unless they went balls to the wall to improve every aspect of the game to make life easier (controls!!!). Even then, not exactly happy to be retreading old material released...AGAIN.

That said, 100 levels is a long ass slog that I'm not sure I could ever do again for one game.

Plus, I'm not remembering any kind of secret twist at the beginning? Unless you're referring to how they presented things at the end of level 4 and transitioned to level 5. That was cool af.

It definitely can be. Just like racism or sexism. These things arent off limits in comedy.

It appears from reading this topic that its the usual thing. Transgender related things are handled with kid gloves unlike anything else. I really doubt Dave was just spouting transphobic propaganda or something. Honestly, hes doing the same stuff he always does. Dunno why the easily offended keep watching tbh.

The easily offended intentionally seek out things that upset them because they have no ability to be happy whatsoever. Things are never good enough.

Wild Meowth could know payday and you could get money that way. It didn't even cost money in the gba remake.

In the originals, the main issue is you have to remember to blow your money on pokeballs and somehow specifically remember to train until you can catch a Meowth to do Payday without losing it all first and being unable to catch one with zero pokeballs. And...wasn't he only in one of the two versions, anyway??? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't get me wrong, it's hard as fuck to pull that obscurity off, but still...

Yeah, this one isn't on the driver.

People do dumb shit. Even if you are paying attention, people can still act in ways that are outside your control to prevent (based on what I just read, even someone paying attention would not have had proper stopping distance to prevent the kid from being hit). The father took responsibility as he should have and hopefully the kid learned a serious lesson.
