New Years Eve. Now that dry January is almost over, Ill probably have a beer soon.

Just finished The Big Picture by Sean Carroll. Now Im not sure what to read next, so Im reading Unpopular Essays by Bertrand Russell until something catches my eye.

The bull rings are sort of comical, but not attractive. Not that anyone should care what I think, but Ive never seen one and thought it was an improvement over the persons natural appearance. Rings/studs are good sometimes, bad others. I dont feel strongly about them.

Is this some stupid feel good meme going around?

How are the speeds?

What's wrong with Straight Talk? That $45 plan looks nice. Up to 60 GB high speed? Hello.

I'm thinking of switching because they're pretty cheap. I currently have a regular T-Mobile account, but I sort of want to try an AT&T or a Verizon network because T-Mobile's 5G is fucking worse than their LTE.

Same, its amazing. I pay like $8 because Im grandfathered in from the Play Music beta. YouTube music is okay but sort of frustrating. Very often I look up albums and they just dont show up at all, and its not even anything uncommon. Like just now if I search Pantera they dont show up under Artists. I have to search a song and then find a place to click on the band name to go their page. And then when I get there, there isnt an albums tab at all, but there are playlists and music videos. So fucking stupid.

CE gets hostile when cultural progressives are questioned, rightly or wrongly.

My Kindle died, but I had one for a while and enjoyed it. I'll replace it eventually but I'm not in a hurry. There are conveniences to it, like the ability to quickly look up what a word means and highlight important passages. But for me, a lot of the books I like to read I can get cheaper on eBay by buying used, so I usually do that. I keep a lot of ebooks on my phone though because I hate not having something with me to read.

One way to rid yourself of this insidious dogma is to consider whether or not its really likely for an afterlife to exist in the first place. People often assume that if God exists, there must also be an afterlife. I think this is a mistake. Why should humans live forever just because there is a God?

Any notion of God should be informed by an understanding of modern science, which cant prove but provides quality evidence that suggests an afterlife is very unlikely.

Futhermore, the idea of hell isnt intrinsic to the idea of God in the first place. This belief is due to the influence of the religions with which we are familiar, most commonly those that are prominent in our geographic vicinity. Thats not a good reason to take them any more seriously than other religions, which posit all sorts of things about what an afterlife would entail.

Theres no good reason to believe that a bunch of Bronze Age farmers had any insight into the mind of God.

Theres nothing inherently virtuous about being godly in the first place, so I really think a change of thinking on your part is probably necessary to overcome this conflict with your more devout friends.

Its a pretty high quality product across the board and does everything I need it to do pretty well. I appreciate the integration with my Mac, which I prefer to Windows.

Theres nothing wrong with Android though.

This attitude of yours is part of why your side are losing voters in droves. The democrats of today are nothing like the democrats of the 1990's and 2000's. The current party is just angry, vengeful, and in the case of the far left, bloodthirsty; there's no balance and very little sanity to be found.

Youre conflating the loud, angry progressives with the mainstream democrats. Even still, I think theres far more balance and sanity amongst the progressives than their angry conservative counterparts.

I use them if the other person does. If not, I dont. People are fucking weird.

If you read the article, theyre raising the age restriction to 18 because thats when the child officially obtains custody of itself. Anything before that and its up to the parents.
