There's the "free trial" which is really just buying the game and getting the first month's subscription for free (which means it isn't *really* free since you're still buying the game itself), then there's the actual free trial that everyone above was talking about, where you can just keep playing for as long as you want up through the ending of the first expansion. That's what I was using up until two months ago when I switched over to the full version so I could keep playing the story -- I got a full year's worth of content, and easily over a hundred hours of playtime all for free. And as far as I'm aware, it's not on the console's PS Store (if you're using PS4/PS5), you have to find it online on PlayStation's website and download it that way.
