It's very frustrating because I can count 25 Day 98 saves for him, easily, even against prime competition. You can see where things went wrong for him last year and where they're going wrong now.

I can appreciate nobody wanting to make a sacrifice, they want to support their main as long as they can. Even if there's a near-zero chance of winning, there's always a chance. Meanwhile there's a much better chance of being part of something epic, the spectacular Kefka win after all those years and close calls...

(Now this sounds like hypocrisy since I'm saving Sephiroth over better characters I like more with a better shot at making a deep run, but that's my penance run, I need to see it through to the bitter end. Kefka's a different story though)

things were looking worst last year in this same scenario of having to outlast Locke and Celes. but he got past it, and then gained new savers after i think Edea went out. that's when i thought it was in the bag and that's when he suddenly went out.

I don't think I've ever had a lawyered save, but I've often been the saver accidentally killing my own characters due to another user's early lawyered saves.

at least in the case of Inviso&Celes that got reversed by the Cecil double-lawyer

I read that whole old thread and in it you admitted to lawyering out Locke at one point.

Also I had completely forgotten my own involvement in that lawyering fiasco. Apparently I had already saved Celes that round and was waiting for her to be safe to save Seph or him to be safe to trade for her. Then Gen and Inviso agree to a Zidane/Seph trade, which would have been Seph's last save needed, so I butted in and asked to make it a 3-way for Celes.
