sadly most of the decent parts of the region have seen skyrocketing costs of living due to rapid growth, I like the growth and new businesses, and the more diverse people who have moved in but me wallet hurts a little bit more every year.

I suppose a good flipside to this, for people who believe themselves to be centrists and are getting accused of being on certain sides: If left-leaning people generally accuse you of being right-leaning, and right-leaning people generally accuse you of being left-leaning, you probably really are a centrist. If one side does this to you but the other doesn't (and you are interacting with both in contexts that involve political discussion), you're probably actually on the side that doesn't.

A good analogy to the current political environment is that a bunch of lambs became politically "woke" and self aware, empowered by this, they go on a tear only to not realize that their still just sheep. And before you get mad, "baaaaaaah", I'm a sheep too. If you don't think normal american citizens are just that, Sheep, sheep for votes, sheep for labor, sheep for taxes, then it doesn't really MATTER what individual sheep believe in, because they're not doing anything with their beliefs anyways. Pretty far right either politically or socially or both

Smug about their political independence even though they are in lock step with the right on the economic or social axis.

Far more anti-left than anti-right. (This is the most universal one)

And ignorant about where they actually are on the political spectrum (thinking that liking weed or not wanting to electrocute the gays or wanting free health care makes you "left leaning")
