I ran a true evil campaign once, the characters were essentially working for someone like the Joker (it was set in 1997) and had assassination missions and the like.

Ultimately they all quit the campaign because I created a character that freaked them out, Mondo Green.

Mondo Green didn't use weapons, he challenged people to conversations in which he would try to convince the person to kill themselves, and if he couldn't do it he would voluntarily kill himself.

The players defeated Mondo, but the psychological toll was more real than I anticipated. One of the players dropped out because of it, so his girlfriend also dropped out, and it was a campaign of 4 so that was that.

Oof, yeah if anyone ever had suicidal thoughts/depression or maybe even know someone who does, i can see that accidentaly getting out of hand quickly

If he woke up in the middle of the desert without his armor, his first thought is that he left his armor in the sarlac pit? How would he have gotten out without it? The armor was what was keeping him alive. Or did he think he got out with it and somehow it fell off back into the sarlac pit?

he got out and immediately fell unconcscious afterwards
having some memory loss of exactly how it happen isn't that implausible, and the sarlacc was the only lead he had, so i think it's more that he hoped it would be that simple

i judge the time on that game mostly based on what disc you're on cause that's how it was played on playstation

the first disc ends after getting beaten by Kuja at Burmecia
the second disc end at the Giant Tree

the game is four discs total, though the last one has much less content than the others if you ignore side stuff

i don't remember exactly, but i think you're somewhere in the middle of disc 2
