That's the case with lots of extinction-level events. It's one thing or a few things that sets other things in motion. Like a large meteorite or supervolcano eruption itself won't kill all/most of humanity. The consequences of such an event, like climate change, tidal waves and nuclear winter are some that can kill off many more, even more than the event itself, depending on the magnitude of the catalyst event.

I meant it as increase the risk of some of the ways humanity can kill ourselves off due to the destabilizing effects it will have on various countries.

In network or out of network doesn't matter to the insurance maximum OOP; it only matters to the percentage they cover before meeting the OOP.

Even when they arent supposed to, the providers still bill people for whatever they couldnt get from the insurance and most people wont know how to or be able to fight that.

Some folks also have insurance that is in network only and they are extra screwed when that stuff happens.

No insurance. Hospitals being in network but using out of network surgeons, anesthesiologists, etc which insurance then doesnt fully cover and those people then bill you directly for the remainder.
