You can definitely speedrun it like a bloodthirsty badass hooked on Carpenter Brut if you like for 1/2 of the game you're allowed to but it's all about enemy memorization and timing.

Don't think of it like Doom 2016 but rather a traditional shooter like Timesplitters, Perfect Dark, or obviously Return to Wolfenstein. That's why it's still so beloved.

Is the New Colossus less of a peek out and take some shots from cover type of shooter?

Unfortunately it has issues with gameplay schizophrenia in that it doesn't know what it really wants to be (stealth? run and gun?) so you're bound to the narrative's situations instead of just doing it your way most of the time in New Order. Not a flat out horrible game as people say but not an ideal formula for a shooter.

Both of them died in the middle of nowhere basically, surrounded by confused outsiders, and you have to wonder.... Are these characters people who ultimately wasted their lives, and what kind of impact did they have on the world they inhabit? That's especially profound for me because they have had a massive impact on our world, both in terms of entertainment & movie making, but also helping to shape the lives and personalities of the real people who have now grown up watching them fight bad guys on film, struggling through relatable emotions, for their entire lives.

What I noticed within the movie under the surface is that it did tie up many of those themes and allegorical elements scattered all over like the X-Men comic deconstruction, to the role reversal relationship between Logan and Charles, Laura beginning her new life in Canada where Logan lived, Logan fighting his past demons via X-24, and redeeming "himself" with X-23, Charles' last day on earth with family, etc.

So yeah, all these struggles and arcs these characters dealt with throughout the movies were brilliantly addressed and resolved even though if you think about it, it does seem like it's channelling those similar themes in No Country For Old Men how their time was finally up, what did it all amount to and so on...I wish more Marvel characters were treated three-dimensionally like that.

Iron Man was kind of close as it got, but a middle-aged, womanizing ego jerk dealing with alcoholism and possible drug use while reflecting on his hero image isn't exactly 2 hour entertainment for Marvel

Logan owes a lot not only to the OG X-Men movie, but also the sequels and spin-offs for making us want more Jackman. On that note, have you seen Deadpool 2 yet? It has more than a fair bit of references directly to this film, which is pretty cool. The juxaposition of comedy with drama helps drive home the memory of both movies on my end. Loved Logan & 'Pool 2.

I tried not to think about that DP2 bit because that would've ruined the weight of such a bleak yet powerfully moving ending. It's a profound notion that Mangold flat out shut all the windows and doors for any hint of a conclusion that there would be more movies.

As far as grim-toned, dramatic superhero movies go, that ship has sailed and it's over for Marvel. Logan was a Fox production that gave Mangold full reigns to do exactly what he wanted. That isn't happening ever again because in a post-multiverse state of fiction, literally no one cannot die or stay dead anymore imo.

I wish I could say I man'd up at the end but no, I seriously teared up big time More than Yoda in ROTJ and Gandalf in Fellowship. Now I realize why I haven't seen it in a very long time because of that.

No comic book movie based on Marvel or in general has still come close to that movie's level of conveying emotional impact, brutality, and gritty storytelling.

5 is the most accessible for newcomers in terms of button movesets, skill, and for its standalone-esque plot. Adjustable difficulty settings are a major plus too considering 1 and 3 have crazy spikes between standard fodder and bosses.

Felt like a reintroduction to all the characters and lore than a direct sequel from 4 and encourages new players to the series to go back and find out more about Dante and Virgil.

Plus 5 is the best altogether and looks incredible.

Troy Baker is a massive sellout.
