Hmmm. Good amount of movies I really like or even love, but I actually think Paraiste might be the best of the bunch. I do like it more than Silence of the Lambs, Departed, No Country, Cuckoo's Nest. Is it better than Rocky though? Hmm. Even if it is, do I like it more? Real hard comparing something so new to classics.

I knew about the ice key and the eggs from youtube videos and buzz years ago. I didn't know how much of it was actually just left in the game. I got 100% when I finished, so Mumbo showed me the tips. I looked up how you go about getting them since I didn't really feel like doing any more after freaking Click Clock Wood and the passwords you need to input in the sand castle seem pretty out there.

Is there any way whatsoever to figure this stuff out in the game or is it just something for prima guides and magazine cheat code sections back in the day?

Thrones easily. Star Wars already sucked with the prequels and TFA was good. Season 5 did suck, but it didn't ruin the series and 6 was pretty damn good even if it wasn't on par with the first 4. Even 5 had some real good stuff. So Thrones had further to fall than Star Wars.

even for a game that's reliant on RNG to win it's fucking easy like issac and the other shite they advertise as roguelikes despite not being roguelikes

I prefer roguelites over roguelikes, so that's a plus to me. How it's advertised is something else I wouldn't hold against the game itself.

I do think it's a bit easy when you really learn what you're doing. Thought it was hard as hell for the first 13 hours. Took me 20 runs to finally make it to the end, but I've only failed 3 runs since then (all thanks to Charon). However, the pact of punishment sure seems like it can ramp up that difficulty no problem. Highest I've gone thus far is only 6 active. Does add some new challenge to the game.

Really wish I got to play this when it came out and I was 8. Always wanted to play it and I'm having fun, but it does show its age and it is rough around the edges. Camera is a a bit ass. Better control than Mario 64, but when it tighter spaces and you lose that control I'd say it's positioned worse than Mario 64. Running, jumping and attacking feels pretty good. Think DK64's a bit more satisfying in that department, but that came after this. The flying is great. Way better than Mario's or Diddy's jetpack.

I've always enjoyed collectathons, so getting the jiggies is great, but the biggest flaw in this game so far are the notes not saving. Huge downer. I 100%ed DK64 as a kid and can't imagine having to recollect bananas in levels if I died or left. I was stuck at 94 notes for the second level and just couldn't find the last few. Nothing I could do. Had to move on, but now if I want to get them all, I'll have to go back in and recollect those 94 along with trying to find the additional 6. Seems like a real pain in the big water level with the mechanical shark. I didn't even bother attempting it my first go through.

Seen online it was a problem due to the N64 having limited memory and they fixed it in the sequel where the notes save, so that's good, but this still is a bit of a bummer. I'm a guy who likes to 100% levels whenever possible as I play through them. So not getting that satisfaction as I go through hurts the experience somewhat.

Still enjoying it quite a bit. Music's pretty great and the songs shifting depending on if you're underwater or near certain areas is crazy impressive for 98.
