Good series in my opinion. We also know Jet reads Chinese normally (probably his native language, when he is reading the news at his computer it's in Chinese, he also points to the Chinese no smoking portion of the sign when explaining to Spike in and episode) and Spike was in a Chinese triad. I don't have a problem with the casting in the live action but people seem to have assumptions about characters ethnicities when all we know is they come from Chinese linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
