This place is still recouping from having a four year long meltdown.

Smells like jealousy.

Freedom and responsibility are supposed to go hand in hand, granted our culture seems to put less of an emphasis on responsibility and puts freedom as the ultimate virtue.

Links too long. You can google it. Also Pelosi's response is in relation to skepticism of Trump and Republicans pushing for short development of a vaccine. Omitting him directly doesn't change that.

D) Also, this is a very old article (October of last year, before a vaccine was even released). Actual vaccination rates have been much higher among Democrats than Republicans, so... the projected fear didn't occur?

Because Trump is not in charge anymore, so Democrat's trust in the federal government in handling the development of the vaccines went back up to where it was prior to September of last year. Who knows what the projection would be if he won last November?

I think they represented a sizable enough influence to antivaxxers in both parties and the public at large at the time. AOC was one of the bigger Democrat voices to push back against that.

He's kinda onto something. Andrew Ryan is based directly on Ayn Rand and his society devolved into an authoritarian hellhole. It's not exactly fascism, but it's in the ballpark.

It also devolved into communist hellhole in the second game.

Andrew Ryan is a hypocrite who actually abandons his ideology and becomes an authoritarian to fight Fontaine.

The flaws with Ryan's views are you can't have a hyper individualistic and objectivist form of capitalism where everyone only cares about themselves and expect society to function

Most Looney Tunes parodied or made fun of entertainment that existed back then.

These cartoons weren't about teaching kids anything.

Yeah the only focus on individual bad guys and not why the empire itself is evil its very weird. In fact the only time Ive ever really seen it articulated well is in the Mandalorian TV show but thats it.

Aside from the obvious surface level nazi imagery, Lucas has said a big influence for the Empire was also the Roman and the British Empire (which is why the imperial officers have english accents).

Yes, it is the entire point of these stupid f***ing ideologies. The idea is to take arbitrary and pointless human traits, lionize the ones you strive for, then identify yourself with them as much as possible. It's an excuse to create idols so you don't have to go through the challenging process of self-actualization and developing your own set of values.
