I've encountered that a few times where I've been outright told that their family wouldn't allow it. And I'm talking first generation mostly. Big reason I broke up with my Korean ex was because she swore her parents would disown her if they found out about us. I couldn't take being hidden any longer if she wasnt going to confront it. I've heard this statement from asian female friends as well. It's unfortunate circumstances but I hope as time goes on it'll get better. My current Indonesian gfs family is cool with me. On the first date I asked how her family views black people. She knew where I was coming from.
