We're left-wing economically, for sure. But Germany is 100% a religious (Christian) country

100% true based on the nine years of my childhood that I lived in Baden-Wrttemberg.
Mostly false based on the past 15 years that I've lived in Thuringia. There are some places here in the east that have these signs, but most don't and more importantly the people couldn't care less about religion. In these 15 years I haven't been asked about my religious beliefs by a German person, nor have I heard any German person talk to me about their religious beliefs.

Otherwise the same but with less talent and generally way better championship games.

You missed a lot of differences. Off the top of my head:

• 12 players per team instead of 11 in the US
• Wider field than in the US
• Deeper endzones than in the US.
• Different placement of the goal
• Return kicks are allowed
• Single point / rouge as a scoring play
• Running starts for wideouts are allowed
• Entirely different rules regarding the timing of the game with game clocks and play clocks

I couldn't disagree harder. Lithuania is my #3 song this year behind Germany and Cyprus. That being said, I would have had Croatia in my top 10 tonight. I wasn't overly impressed by Russia, Azerbaijan and Israel.

Do you have any specific place in mind when you say Europe? I'm guessing that the experiences of someone from an ethnic minority in a global metropolis like London or Paris could be quite different to the experience of someone from an ethnic minority in a small rural town.
My own experience as a minority living in medium-sized German cities has been fine, although I'm probably not the best person to answer such a question, considering that I've never even been to a place where I'm part of the ethnic majority.

Nice. I hope Germany (and other large soccer nations like Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, etc.) fail to qualify for the WC. Less interest (and therefore ratings and money) in the WC may lead to more interest and investment in other sports and other areas.

I also say "viertel nach vier" and "viertel vor fnf", but "viertel fnf" and "dreiviertel fnf" at least are easily understandable once you think of it as "ein Viertel der fnften Stunde" and "drei Viertel der fnften Stunde". However, I have literally heard things like "zehn vor dreiviertel fnf" here in Thringen. WTF?

AM is by definition from midnight to midday, PM is by definition from midday to midnight. The "dumb" thing about it is making the first hour of each 12-hour window the hour from 12 to 1. How different would you feel about the AM/PM system if the minute after 11:59 AM was 0:00 PM, and the minute after 11:59 PM was 0:00 AM?

That post makes some sense if you assume that every clock has a clock face (Ziffernblatt) with numbers from 1-12 on it. The hour after midnight or midday is the hour from 12 to 1, so the German 00:30 is 12:30 and it's in the ante meridian half of the day.

Speaking of "dumb" and clocks, how dumb is it that German language speakers can't agree on what to call 4:15? Viertel nach vier? Viertel fnf? Viertel ber vier? Viertel ab vier?

Some kind of rule change after the second extra time that increases the likelihood of a goal, for instance:

• Any time a player is fouled and there's a free kick the fouled team can choose where the free kick is performed.
• No defenders in the own goal or penalty area allowed.
• Goalkeeper may touch the ball with hands and arms only in the goal area, or only in the penalty area but not in the goal area.

Football in the Olympics would be amazing.

Unfortunately this won't be happening anytime soon, if ever. If I'm not mistaken to be included as an Olympic sport there must be regularly held World Championship tournaments with at least 16 participating countries. For American Football you'll only get the top four countries (US, Canada, Mexico, Japan), two to eight European countries (depending on where the WC is held) and maybe one or two other countries.

How does the Earthquake move in Pokmon work? If the battle isn't taking place near the fault line between two tectonic plates, then the earthquake in theory would cause the ground to shake a bit, but it wouldn't hurt a single lion. If it does take place near a fault line, does the Pokmon that performs the move know exactly where the ground will break apart? Would other non-flying Pokmon potentially be just as doomed as some of the lions?

I don't know about the abilities of the lions and the Pokmon, but if each lion takes up two square meters, then a billion of them fill out a circle that has a radius of 15.7 miles. So if the lions spread out and then surround the Pokmon any attack of a Pokmon will need to have a range of 16 miles to hit all the lions in that direction.
