Pretty much. It was a highly anticipated follow-up to RE4, which is considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all-time, and it promised similar gameplay but with added co-op, better graphics, sound, production values etc.

It still is a great game, in fact some days I prefer it to RE4, but at the time it released Capcom had been trying to outdo itself for several titles in the series, to the point where RE5 barely resembled Resident Evil. Then they completely jumped the shark with RE6.

Not really backwards, theyre all just different weapons. Generally speaking though the grenade launcher is Claires power weapon that should be saved for stronger enemies and bosses. Although she gets a budget magnum as well once you upgrade her revolver and find some magnum ammo. But yeah the grenade launcher is kind of a waste on zombies whereas the shotgun is Leons bread and butter. The SMG suits this role better for Claire (I tend to just destroy the zombies legs with it and run past).

Both Leon and Claire get alternate .45 pistols for their B games. I guess for varietys sake and to make sense of the fact that the other character is picking up all the 9mm laying around so someone has to use a .45 instead. Capcom also took the opportunity to create more tie-ins to the original using those guns.

Anyway Claires Single Action revolver is actually really powerful, far and away the most damaging pistol in the game apart from magnums, just dont fire quickly. Seriously 6 rounds is more than enough to down Mr. X if you focus each shot, IIRC. Even though it has an impressive rate of fire, you typically dont want to make use of it and just take slow headshots. You need to keep it topped up whenever possible since you have to manually eject the spent casings before loading new rounds. Treat it like a shotgun in that sense.

I (and I believe most people) disagree with this one. RE4 remains great up until the island, where the quality dips a bit IMO. The Village might be the best section atmosphere-wise.

They are pretty awesome and nerve-wracking, but once you figure the game out they stop becoming a problem and you can prevent them from appearing altogether (except for the one body in the mirror hallway which always reanimates no matter what you do, and of course the Elder in the coffin)

penguinz0/Crit1cal. Used to love watching him play crappy games and corrupted ROMs, as well as troll in Modern Warfare 2. He doesnt really do any of that anymore. His reviews are decent though.

I havent had much time to play him yet. I tried Roo and Estel this morning though. I wasnt expecting much from Roo since he was pretty bad in SoR3 but hes decent here. Estel was fun. Not sure which of her Blitz attacks are better. I do think Maxs clothesline blitz might be worse than his power slide.

Definitely. I like that they really embraced the simulation idea and went all-out with the arenas, traps and weapons. The retro levels are always fun too. Havent seen any SOR1 levels yet, did any make it in?

yea I plan to do the original RE2, RE3, and then zero. Then Ill move on to 4,5,6 and the modern remakes. Also gonna fit Code Veronica in there somewhere. Probably after 3, or after zero

The game REALLY gets fun when you go for the unlocks and up the difficulty. I recommend trying it some time.

Agreed. One the things I really like about RE games is that, even though they tend to be kind of short and only a few modes to play, they lend themselves really well to speed and challenge runs, so they end up being very replayable.

Secret character? Whoa thats crazy. This DLC is a lot of fun and will add a ton of replay value to the base game for sure.

My kids and I made it to wave 15 this morning. Theyre still quite young so it gets to be a bit difficult for them but they still have fun together. And we can level up multiple characters at once this way haha.

4-player local co-op has been in the game since launch. I heard 4-player was coming to online as well, although I may be mistaken.

Just played my first round of survival with my 3 sons. I was Max and they were all Estel lol (thank goodness for the new palette swaps! Before they used to fight over who gets to be Adam.) It was a lot of fun! Loved seeing the retro enemies/arenas and lots of new weapons. The perks are really neat, almost gives it a Binding of Isaac feel.

Two and a half times. I fly across the country fairly often and I watch movies on the planes entertainment system. But they have the same movies on there for a month or more. I should probably download stuff on Netflix before my flights more often so I have other things to watch.

Anyway, pretty great movie. Great soundtrack, photography and of course Phoenix knocks it out of the park. Loved the tone and moodiness of the film. Some lame writing though.

Its only really a problem if you have a micro-USB cable with a larger/longer connector. In my experience the port on the controller doesnt get damaged but the cable connector might.

The USB ports on the original PS4 are the more egregious design flaw IMO.

Sorry but no. Mass shooters are not shelling out $15-20k for class 3 firearms. TC is being disingenuous, full-auto has been banned since 1986. The only transferable full-autos are ones made before 1986 and are essentially collectors items at this point.

REmake might be my favourite game of all-time. That game has aged so well. Even the original GameCube version still looks great.

No, Barry can help with the shotgun trap and still give you acid rounds. But if you meet Barry near Forrests corpse, then he wont show up when you enter the main hall from the second floor east hallway. Or if you enter it with a full inventory.

The map definitely is not for everyone. If you have a poor sense of direction I could see it being a struggle, especially in the Forgotten Crossroads. This isnt a git gud thing, some people are just better navigating without a map than others. But it makes for a more immersive experience and its so rewarding to find the paper trail to finally track down Cornifer and be able to buy the map of the area.

Also TC if you die, youre meant to hunt down your Shade and kill it to get your Geo and Soul Vessel restored la Soulsborne games.

And the music is gorgeous, not sure where those criticisms are stemming from.

Team Cherry definitely took a risk with how they designed the map system for HK. But I think it was a good choice that encourages exploration and forces the player to make a choice between knowing where they are at all times on the map or having another precious charm notch.
