I've been taking a class on scripting in Unix that covers Bash, Awk, Perl, and Python and I managed to find the first code I ever "published" online back in 2003.

x=1
while 1==1:
x=x+1
y=range(1,x)
z=0
q=9
for count in y:
q=x%y
if q==0:
z=z+1
if z<1:
print x

I was in middle school and teaching myself baby steps at the time. I really wish I had real programming classes then, or at least the online resources available now.

I made a topic about this a while back, then got distracted by work/"school."
I've been working on a little DOS-style Adventure/RPG game. It doesn't have much, so far, but basically it will be "Choose a direction/action: North, South, East, West" with random battles and a leveling system akin to FF or Pokemon.
I finally managed to get it onto (commit?) GitHub, so here's a little public look: https://github.com/TurquoisePenguin/AdventureGame
Please let me know if I have too much public info available on there.

Some people would really be like, "I know the average cost of living is $1,000,000 a year, but if you can't live off $0.10 a day you shouldn't have eaten that avocado." They'll pray to the free market when jobs are in short supply, but blame people for trying to take a piece of the pie when labor is in demand once in a lifetime.

Stronger than ever!

There are some things future Smash games would have trouble getting right, but if future games would just let movement be good on its own Melee would've died long ago. Like Ultimate could just implement momentum based jumps, dash dancing, cleaner platform drops - and it'd be MUCH better. Until a future Smash game lets the movement just work, viva la melee.

Also, almost every character in Melee feels good to play. From Marth and Fox to Pichu and Bowser, almost every character has something to make them fun. Ultimate really lacks that aspect, it's almost the opposite. I don't get why it's so hard to get EITHER Falcon or Jiggs anywhere close to being right, but only Melee (and 64, actually) do it.

Also, best online by far!

Yeah, this is ridiculous. I lived on a commune (briefly), that's "communism" as much as Mao-ism or Leninism is. Both Cuban and Chinese societies are classless, means of living provided by the state, and the workers do control the means of production - as much as they do in Animal Farm.

Here's part of why SMRPG is the best:

How to get into Grate Guy's Casino:
  1. Return to Booster's Tower after the 5th star.
  2. Go behind Knife Guy to challenge him to a game. Get 12 points (hidden) to receive the Bright Card.
  3. Beat the golden chomp in Bean Valley and jump three times where he was standing.
  4. Oh, and while you're their, beat Grate Guy 100 times in his not-so-secret game and he'll give you the Star Egg.
It's just such a bizarre set of steps it feels like something little kids would make up, but it's actually really cool. There's also the Mystery Egg and leveling up the Snifits. It's a game full of mysteries that really beg you to try weird stuff to figure them out and reward you for it.

Here's Genos:
The previous image was one of the best of the chapter, this one was a weird one taken out of context. Most are somewhere in between. Personally, the art really doesn't bother me. I don't need pictures to enjoy a book, my imagination fills in the details - it's the same for manga. That's why the choreography and setting are so important, and what the manga by Murata gets wrong. The characters could probably be stick figures and it'd be fine so long as the art conveys the action appropriately.

I gotta assume that anyone who favors Giorno over Jolyne is anime-only or misogynistic. I'm not a Giorno hater, I believe you don't need character growth to be an interesting character, but Joylne is everything good about him and so much more.
Johnny's even less the "main character" than Giorno. Giorno, at least, has his own goals and ideals. Johnny gets completely pulled by Gyro from the very start. At least he's a cool dude when it's just him and Gyro.
Is Josuke Higashita even a JoJo? There's legit other characters in that series that can claim that title. He makes almost half the scenes he's in worse just by being there :(

Not sure I see the issue with half of these off the top of my head, are the 3D models different in that app or something? I'm picturing their current SwSh models for "3D" so we might be thinking different things
Most of these issues arose from Gen 5->Gen 6, but continue on today.
Here's Nidoking in Gen 4: https://cdn2.bulbagarden.net/upload/3/3d/Spr_4d_034.png
He he is in Gen 6: https://cdn2.bulbagarden.net/upload/6/69/Spr_6x_034.png
His SwSh model is just a higher res version of Gen 6. His actions and entry look fine in SwSh, but he really just stands there in Gen 6. In earlier games, almost all of Nidoking's poses are dynamic, showing off this cool weird rabbit monster. In modern games, he looks like a fat derpy thing that could fly with his ears.

And that's the problem with most of these. They went from cool dynamic sprites to bland neutral models. They made less work for themselves by creating reusable models, but then didn't put in the extra work to make interesting animations until much later.

Poll titles are dumb

I was playing the recent Pokemon MastersEX event where I saw some ugly 3D models, so I figured I'd ask CE. I tried to find some of the more (un)popular choices, but don't really keep up on modern Pokemon discourse. There's so many pokemon models that make me immediately think, "Man, this game never should've been brought to 3D."

Personally, I think it's between Typhlosion, Hippowdon, and the Nidos. Typhlosion (and his whole line) not only lost their dynamic poses, but also fire manes. Hippowdon is a pokemon that just looks dumb without a nice pose. And almost all the Nidos went from "cool pokemon with GREAT pose" to "wtf even is this shit?"

He's not just a deus ex machina, he has his own challenges outside of monster attacks. His given superhero name is "Caped Baldy", so he joins a protest with other poorly named heroes to challenge the status quo. Meanwhile, the other main characters are dealing monster attacks and betrayal - typical shonen stuff. The dissonance between the plots and level of seriousness is a part of the humor and satire.
He also has a very different perspective of his superhero activities. After all, he only became a superhero "as a hobby." Non-specific spoilers ahead: While in front of a crowd, Saitama destroys a big boss monster that just beat or killed a bunch of high ranking heroes. One of the people he just saved starts saying how worthless all the other heroes were. So to diffuse the situation, Saitama plays the role of an asshole, pretending the other heroes softened the monster up and he got the killing blow. This makes him look bad while giving the crowd a reason to respect the heroes that died to protect them.

My point is that we should be intervening more broadly to prevent civil wars and encourage growth in countries that are rapidly developing in order to build relationships and business. We should not be letting China spread their influence here, which, as you mentioned, comes with a lot of downsides for African countries.

But... we've absolutely fucked over countries like Venezuela by NOT intervening (even though we supported Guaido). There was probably hesitancy from the shit we've done to other regime changes, like in Guatemala and Panama, but here Venezuelans were begging for help (and fleeing in droves).

Don't take a 3 sentence quick post and ascribe meaning where there is not.

As someone without much nostalgia for Castlevania's 1, 3, and 4 (owned and played the shit out of 2), I really have to imagine 90% of the love for Super Castlevania 4 is just nostalgia.
1 and 3 have amazing learning curves that feel incredibly gratifying and all the NES games have killer music. 3 especially has an early Dark Souls (more like Ghosts and Goblins) vibe, where you learn more bit by bit and eventually can just crush parts that were originally super hard.
4 actually sounds kinda bad on the SNES. It often has barren level design with enemies that feel like the were placed Mario Maker style. The levels often look like generic "environment_zone" with some Castlevania elements thrown in. There's is a ramp up of difficulty at the end, but even so it feels like the entire game was designed without knowing Simon could whip in any direction.
