Cold approach feels predatory to me, I know it 'works' but you also make a lot of women uncomfortable while you're doing it, and I also don't like being cold approached myself, so why would I do it to someone else? Sure, most people have that "choice" but that 1% of us generally don't. People who have that choice can't comprehend what it's like to not have it.

I used to think that if I could just get some form of success that I could begin to turn this mindset around. That if someone likes me I'd be more confident and my self esteem would rise. That if someone saw something in me that they liked, that I could begin to like myself.

Which is why being told it's a choice is annoying. It's why being told that a girl just like me exists out there somewhere is both sad, and unhelpful.
