I went through that whole thing being immersed in a fantasy life where I'm rich enough to own that house all to myself. And then maybe someone I know comes to stay for a few weeks, and they're super impressed with the place, and I just keep thinking up little scenes while they're visiting. It kinda sucks that the master bedroom is on the ground floor, though. I love that closet, though. I mean, if this is a fantasy where I'm rich enough to live here on my own and never work a day, we can assume I'm attractive enough to be able to cosplay, and have a giant stash of cosplay outfits in the master bedroom's walk-in closet, with the giant vanity and ladder to get the outfits on the top shelves. Also, I can't help but think, "Which rooms would I keep my collection of gaming stuff?" Like, current gen consoles, retro stuff, a huge, giant collection of things. Where would all that be stored? How about arcade cabinets? Maybe the gym could be repurposed to hold arcade cabinets? Or maybe the basement room leading to the outside, where the card table and lounge are. | Kisai 04/09/21 4:34:17 AM #4 | Why's everyone talking about "being creepy"? How about the fact that some continuity would be nice? Like, we saved DK in DKC2, why isn't he back? Why is he kidnapped AGAIN, and this time Diddy Kong is, too? Why not just bring him back and let us play as Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong? Also, the atmosphere and setting does feel a little strange in the sense that we went from exploring two islands with interesting visuals, to basically being in giant land with enormous bears, in a setting located entirely in the American northwest. It feels like there was probably a changing of the guard between DKC2 and DKC3, hence some of the gameplay and design choice for the setting feels different. But seriously, why fucking Kiddie Kong, and having Donkey and Diddy kidnapped? Also, in DKC1 we got King K. Rool, in DKC2 he upgraded his stuff to becoming Commander K. Rool with a cool pirate outfit and blunderbuss. Apparently the mad scientist in DKC3 is also K. Rool, but giving up a pirate ship and flying airship + blunderbuss to moving into a mad scientist lair and wearing a lab coat feels like such a downgrade. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? |

And some weird choices in furniture that I think were last-minute decisions, like a couch blocking that hallway. I was looking at everything, trying to figure out what kind of person lived there. I noticed a sort of exercise room with a dog kennel, a closet with quite a bit of female fashion, and most interesting of all, an actual VCR and 5-disc CD/DVD player. Of course, if someone's rich enough to afford the house now, they would've been super rich even during the 90s/early-2000s too. And there were actual landline phones scattered around, which I thought was pretty cool. Somehow, that sort of helps the house "show its age". Also, it had a fucking elevator, which was cool as hell. I've never seen a house with an elevator before, but then again, I've never seen a house with 4 floors and rooftop access, either.
