| ninkendo 07/27/21 2:58:37 AM #234 | My physical copy of GAA won't be here for another 3 weeks so I was hoping to pop back in to FF14 this weekend since I have 4 days off but I'm not quite finished with Baten Kaitos Origins yet and probably won't be by the time the weekend hits Although it's been like 2 months now so I probably would have to be learning how to play the game. I really enjoyed all the early game content leveling up my main class and also trying out a bunch of the other classes Then it came time to do the 1st required multiplayer dungeon and even though I think it went really well I didn't really like playing with randoms and I found it mentally draining the tank for them and just stopped completely. So I don't know if the actual MMO aspects are for me unless I can get convince some of my friends to play those parts with me but I'll be giving it another shot eventually. --- |

A lot of reviews calling the best set of games in the SERIES Attack of the Fanboy - 4/5 Like you would come to expect from the franchise, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles features both classic detective and Ace Attorney series tropes and gameplay that come together around some very intriguing mysteries that will keep you busy for many hours across the interconnected story of the two games included in the collection. Destructoid - 9/10 The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles as a unified duology really captures everything that draws players into this series in the first place. Its got big reveals and turnabouts, clever use of examinations and deductions, and a cast littered with memorable, endearing characters. Naruhodos journey through the legal system of London is one thats been a series highlight. Its nice to finally have these games in the West, as both a great onboarding point for newcomers and a nice treat for Ace Attorney fans. No objections here. God is a Geek - 9.5/10 I had very little to complain about during my time with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Occasionally Id struggle to spot a contradiction or how to advance an investigation, but never to the point of frustration. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is simply the best game in a series I adore. Theres a huge amount of content, and it has the most memorable & charming characters out there. Anybody with even a passing interest in adventure games or visual novels needs to play this game. Hardcore Gamer - 9/10 There are many titles like The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles which never get localized for more fans to enjoy, and although it took six years, its safe to say it was worth waiting for. Perhaps the best part is regardless of ones history with the series, anyone can give this entry a try as its a proper prequel that requires no prior knowledge in order to dive into right off the bat. NoisyPixel - 10/10 The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles brandishes its cultural and historical context alongside its thematic story cohesiveness in an elegantly refined and bold manner that ultimately results in an undeniably masterful duology. Whether you are a veteran Ace Attorney fan or completely new, this is the height of the franchise that is worth playing in its entirety. After the staleness the series has been associated with from its latest entries, this long-awaited release is the mold-breaker that subverts the obvious. Without feeling self-righteously vigorous in the applications of its mysteries, nor abashed to safety, a delicate balance is kept, producing a substantially must-experience product. Siliconera - 7/10 Franchise fans should be psyched to get the two Great Ace Attorney games, and in a polished package. It wont change your mind about these titles one way or the other, unless you have a strong feeling about the period-piece setting. But it does what it sets out to do. That just happened to coincide with when my apartments internet cable got knicked by a grass cutter somewhere outside and it took them weeks to figure it out and replace all the wires. I was still able to get on the internet, but it would drop several times a day and especially whenever I tried to play my PS4 online. This game was when Platinum started putting out a ton of licensed games and its clearly their B or C team. You play through 9 stages with all 4 turtles at once. If youre playing alone you can switch between which one you play as and in multiplayer you have to stick to one. You can level them up to learn new skills and gain currency to level up those skills or upgrade charms you find with various stat bonuses. The skills work on cool downs, but you can load out all 4 turtles in a way that they basically have tank, healer and DPS roles and it can get pretty interesting. I found on higher difficulties though that even trying to engage up close with enemies was futile and it was far safer and easier to just stay back and throw ninja stars and spam abilities when cooldowns ended while the AI turtles kept them busy. For such a short game though the actual platinum is a super grind, made worse by online only trophies that are impossible to perform with AI turtles and you need 2-4 players for a few of them to make them happen. To make matters even worse the game was only on sale for 6 months then it was delisted from digital store fronts so if you didnt get it in the 6 month window finding a physical copy was your only hope. This made finding people to play with online very difficult and was a weeks long process of finding people online then scheduling time to play together. There were also trophies where you have to play a certain type of mission 10-30 times and these missions randomly spawn on stages and usually have a very low spawn rate so youre forced to just replay the same stage over and over again until you get the mission you want X amount of times just to finish off the trophy. The main platinum points include: Completing the story on Hard Mode 100% of all collectibles (covers of the IDW comics) Upgrade/dismantle 30 charms Disarm 30 bombs Transport gold bars 30 times Transport 30 bags of money Transport 10 Chemical Weapons Destroy 30 cameras Disarm 30 time bombs Transport 30 Krang Bombs Protect 30 ATM machines (the worst one because its spawn rate is so rare) Protect 10 Pizza trucks Various defeat a boss with certain conditions challenges Traveling 150km Using the same turtle at least 50 times Overall longer than it was worth, but hey at least its a decently rare platinum. Hoping the Transformers game that Platinum did isnt equally as tedious. --- |
