Vendors will tweak the strength of the dispensers that it will only work with their own brand of toilet rolls. St0rmFury 05/19/21 8:28:35 AM #1	I'm no expert, but MS including free features that you'd otherwise have to pay for sounds like a good thing. Not really. Which is why they had to pay the justice department 1 million dollars a day in the 90s, but kept doing it anyway. It's one thing if they offer a competing product for free as a standalone. The situation was however that they had already done a bunch of shady illegal things to get Windows bundled with nearly every computer. Then they start bundling more things that aren't explicitly part of the OS just to kill competitors. It's like if one airline took over 99% of all airport gates by doing shady things like purposely delaying passengers that flew in on another airline or telling their pilots to queue longer and cause delays at every airport where they had > 50% of gates until they got all the gates. Then once they have the monopoly on airline gates they decide that it's not enough and when a new company comes out handles for luggage and the airline decides they need to be in the luggage business. So they give everyone free luggage with handles and keep losing any luggage that's not their brand. So it's great that you get free luggage with the handles that came out in 1983 but the innovation stops there because no other company can really compete with free airline provided luggage that they know the airline will purposefully lose. So there's no improvements to luggage and your stuck with crappy airline luggage that never figured out how to put locks or wheels on it and since everyone has the exact same luggage it's extremely hard to find your own bag and it's easy for people to steal them. Then if the second company did decide "HEY maybe that isn't fair, we should sue" the airline says if you drop the suit we will pay you more than the maximum damages you could get in the suit and if you don't settle we will drag it out for years. So you settle and that's the last time the company ever thinks about luggage. And the world continues to carry non-wheeled hard case luggage without locks for another 20 years until a company decides that advertising on luggage is actually more profitable than selling it so they start giving away luggage with wheels but most companies still have an agreement with the airline to only use their luggage for another 10 years. --- "Average Joe" is a trolling term since it's completely an opinion.
